By then, it would be blatantly unfair and stupid to sub JJ in for JL.
So, you're saying there's a chance?

I don't think JJ ever plays for LSU again. IMO

If JJ is reinstated and Lee is getting the job done, does he get the starting QB job back?
Interesting question.

I suppose part of it would be dependent on what happened to the charges against Jefferson.

I suppose another part of it would be dependent on how well Lee is getting the job done.

I expected both QBs to play better now that Krags is here.

No.

He is likely done at LSU. JJ will go down as one of the most scrutinized QBs in LSU history on some of the most talented teams. You will have a argument he is one of the top 5 worst QBs in recent LSU memory. Maybe ever.

If JL is struggling and we're losing games, best thing to do is prepare for the future with Mettenberger.

The entire university would look awful if JJ were to play this year. It would look as if LSU had no moral compass.
e.g., If the DA brings the case to the Grand Jury, and it refuses to take the case because the evidence sucks, then Lowery's GF admits Lowery was trying to set JJ up, LSU would look as incompetent as the BRPD (worst insult I can muster) if JJ was not reinstated with an apology to him.

Wouldn't you agree?

That's why hypotheticals suck.

No he won't get the job back unless we lose a few games.

I don't think the question was whether JJ is reinstated NC. It's whether he'd be handed the starting job back if Lee is playing well as soon as JJ got done with his suspension.

He'll come back just in time to lead LSU to a glorious victory in the Liberty Bow.

The only reason Miles likes JJ so much is because so many fans don't.

Absolutely. If JJ is reinstated, and I think he will be sooner rather than later, he will start again. There were games last year I couldn't believe he was behind center to start the game. I don't have any reason to think it would be different this year.

But isn't that answer at least somewhat dependent on why he gets reinstated as well as how well Lee is doing?

2 things have to happen in order for JJ to get the job back:

1.) JJ has to be reinstated.

2.) Lee has to play poorly.

I doubt #1 ever happens. There were a ton of witnesses at the fight and JJ got charged. My guess is, there is evidence and testimony we aren't aware of and it probably points to Jefferson.

I'll say it like this - there is a 90% chance JJ's LSU career is over.
