The fleaflicker actually gives the D something else to think about when 7 takes the handoff, which helps going forward more than it hurts.

If defenses are now worrying about a flea flicker when Fournette gets the ball, I can't see how that's a bad thing.

With those refs I'm surprised that we were not fagged for " delay of game utilization of fake field goal".

What concerns me is the fact their big TE either:
A) had some special uniform that allowed him to be invisible at will.
B) had some jedi mind powers over our DBs.
C) was really not great but was open a lot because our DBs blew some assignments.

I'll go with C!

Other concerns..... LF early movement in the wildcat could have negated the TD; reading how we needed a fake FG to win but in reality it was a great call. Had Les just kicked the FG the rant would have tore him apart; punting is a legit issue; DB assignments is a concern but should be very fixable.

I expect to see Fournette throw a touchdown out of WildBuga this season.

Those refs were terrible; Fournette fumble was recovered by Florida in bounds....Ray Charles saw it. And LSU shouldn't have needed the fake fg because 2 plays earlier it should have been pass interference on Florida in the end zone. There were numerous other no calls or bad calls.

Honestly with as little respect as this passing game gets, I would run the flea flicker three times a game. It's essentially the same as a play action pass for our purposes.

Also, if we don't spot them 7 to start the game, we don't need the fake FG to win it. So... no I'm not worried at all.

No. It concerns me more that LSU gave the Gators 14 points on special team mishaps.

Why are so many constantly "concerned" and sooo negative.

Just enjoy the season. This is really special.

Whining from a gator on Tiger Droppings. No sympathy. The refs sucked both ways. Get over it. LINK

keep them honest when Fournette is taking handoffs up the middle
I was hoping we'd see Les use him like that this year, and he didn't dissappoint. Teams will get burned again by keying on 7, but they don't have much of a choice.
Damn this has been a good season so far.

We are just starting the gauntlet and we have already displayed two powerful trick plays- we had to use them in one game

Does that concern you?

I don't consider a flea flicker to be a trick play really. I mean, its not common, but its not like a fake punt or FG. They are much more common than that and I love the idea with Fournette because once he gets it, the entire stadium is gunning downhill for him

This.

Plus, I have been wondering all season - Can LF throw the football? How open would a receiver be on a toss pitch to LF?

I have a conjecture, which I consider only partially seriously: Les Miles opted for 2 trick plays, (the toss back) very deliberately and the fake FG (because the window of opportunity was open) because he wanted to put egg on the face of talking heads spouting the "LSU is a 1 trick pony".

Critics chanted the claim that LSU has the LF7 running attack and nothing else using the words "LSU is a 1 trick pony". Miles called 2 "trick" plays, which is 2 tricks to shoot down that letter of the claim. Additionally, Harris's performance silenced the spirit of the claim by successfully mounting a balanced attack.

I do not see these calls as an ominous portent of relying on gimmicks. I see these calls as a reminder this is the same coach who lead the 2007 squad, and the simply correct capitalization on opportunity. If games down the line have situations which warrant them, I do think more trickeration is on the way. I just plan on enjoying the ride!

This is amazing. Now we have "concerns" on this - trick plays. Some of you are just miserable fricks and it doesn't matter what happens. You will be dogging out the coaches or the players even if we win the stupid, idiotic National Championship. This is just sad.

You would think that everyone would be thrilled to see Lesticles is back...but no, lets find something new to moan and groan about.
