Then I remember this should've happened last year anyway, if not before.
As I and others have said, the athletic department and it's relationship with Miles had become toxic. The primary reason was Miles (but not the only one). Such things are the result of such toxicity. Miles would not give an inch, once the line was crossed such things as his legacy and breaking records take a far back backseat.
