I'm convinced that the Hermann to LSU headline was strictly to create interest in the TAMU vs LSU game on Thanksgiving.

I believe those stmts serve functions for a bigger chess game being played.
First example: Herman to LSU leaked by UT booster to put pressure on UT to fire strong and hire Herman. It worked.
Second example. In 2007 I believe Herbstreit who is an OSU guy thought Les Miles to Michigan was a possibility (with the perception that Miles was good) leaked the information so that LSU can jump on top of Miles and keep Michigan from having a better coach. It worked.
It's not news. It's chess.

ehhhh I could be wrong but I think he was just calling ESPN liberals on it's own not making a connection between the thread and his statement....ESPN has become rather liberal but obviously their inability to release reliable sources has nothing to do with that.

Agreed. Once the UT job opened up, Herman was going there, and not LSU. Matt Moscona has stated that he thinks LSU still had a shot at him, but I think he's full of it. Texas was Herman's dream job all along.

I agree, and Moscona even made up a fib (imo) about Tom Herman and stated on the air that "Herman really didn't want to go to Texas because of the politics." What utter bullcrap. Moscona is the ONLY one of any note who has stated this to my knowledge. I challenged him one day in the Huddle about it, and he just said, "Well, someone at LSU told me Herman told them that." First, I seriously doubt it, and second, even if he did say it, I think he was being disingenuous. Everything I've read or heard in the national sports media indicated that Herman's ambition was to get the Texas job. I frankly believe Moscona made up the notion that Herman really didn't want to go to Texas just to appear smarter than the other local sports talk guys and Alleva.

Exactly. Most of the people using the term in a negative way don't even know what it means. They're so brainwashed by Limbaugh and Hannity that they blame everything bad on "liberals."
