Does anyone think we have someone lined up already?

Similar to the Jimbo situation last year, or will we have a full search committee reaching out to the obvious players like Herman, Jimbo (again), Kiffin etc. The way this went down in rapid fire fashion makes it seem like a lot of the framework has already been laid out. Obviously getting someone like Herman is contingent on the rest of his season at Houston.

The timing of this and Sarkisian hiring at Alabama just seems awfully coincidental. Probably nothing there. But Kiffin to somewhere and Sarkisian a year to get ready to take over OC.

Big time money and big time coaching is a small world. So, I think (Speculation) that LSU has the same insights we have, their opinions just count for something. And LSU has the boosters that wanted the change.

Short list with some interest already polled.
After last year and the non-firing, LSU would have trouble getting comfortable big name coaches in the gap between bowl game and signing day in Feb to publicly show interest because of rugs being pulled out from them.
Now, there's no doubt the position is indeed open and if another coach wants to go out on a limb if an offer has been made, he knows he won't be left hanging with a pissed off current employer and no where to go to.

I hope we aren't considering Kiffin. Don't see him as a good fit here. Can't go from someone who was all class to Lane Kiffin.

If we do, it has to be Briles. Otherwise, no. I can't imagine Herman or Jimbo committing in the middle of the season.
