I don't think we're quite that bad yet, Texas hit rock bottom per Longhorn standards, but if this year pans out like I think it might, coupled with the fact LSU keeps him till his contract expires, 2 more seasons (hell just 1 or maybe at the end of this year) we will be well on our way. We still have way too much talent on that sideline to look this bad. It's a friggin joke

Me too.

Think of all the changes in the world since 2003. The game has passed both Stoops and Miles by.

He is a great guy. He is a great recruiter. But even though he has shown brief flashes of brilliance, he is not a great coach. He is now not even a particularly good coach. He once was the man of the hour, but no longer. He is not the right coach for the LSU football team moving forward. The best thing for him and the Tigers is for him to retire. Today. Then he goes out with dignity and the honor his 11 years have accrued.

With the 2 stud quarterback recruits, it's all the more reason to make the change this year before Miles/Cameron screws them up. A good hire should be able to keep and actually develop them.

No, this is NOT a rational response, and here's why:

1. "Les didn't change like we all feared"

And

2. You still want to see if the talented team wins despite Les not changing, so you can then argue that

3. Les shouldn't be fired, because the team won DESPITE him.

Which means next year when all the upperclassmen are gone, it's very likely a losing season.

OP, why even bring this topic?

Isn't the answer crystal clear to practically anyone by now?

He will never change and that will get him fired

He could succeed. He could easily succeed. The irony is that the path to success is also the path of least resistance. He is blazing a trail of mediocrity by sheer dent of will.

If he hired Steve Sarkesian this past offseason and handed him the reigns to the offense as he did with Aranda on D, he could focus on recruiting and looking cool on gamedays, Bobby Bowden style.

The whole thing is baffling.

We're most likely gonna lose recruits either way. I'd vote to make to necessary changes or you're NOT gonna see any change...just more " we didn't execute" excuses and new coordinators...same ole song.

No, it's not early. It's 11+ seasons and 145 games into his tenure, and it looks exactly the same as it has the whole time. Nothing is going to happen in the next week or in the next 11 games that hasn't happened in the last 11+ years and 145 games.

Les Miles is simply not salvageable. It's not his fault he's not any better than he is. A person has whatever abilities they have and they can't help that they don't have more. If they aren't good enough but are still being relied on to do something they can't, the fault lies with the people who hired him or have the power to fire him and fail to do so.

Well I think it's an overwhelming yes that this just isn't going to work. Change needs to be in the air my friends.

I think he's the right guy to finish this season if his retirement is announced prior to the end of the season.

All fandom aside, they'd be fools to come to LSU with the current regime in place... the track record proves that.

Yep. Any QB signing with us at this point has to be considered suspect regardless of hype
