I personally know several tigers and my step brother is a commit for the 2011 season. I know for sure that several players read this site.

When you google LSU football this site is one of the first ones that pops up. Most players can't understand where all this negativity is coming from. The team is 4-0 but people act as if they're 0-4. In reality it hurts recruiting because believe it or not recruits read this site and they buy into the B.S. that is said on here.

And by the way after meeting Les Miles in person anyone who says he isn't a great coach is just plain ignorant. IMO

good post. i'm as rabid a fan as anyone, but wasting time on so much pseudo expert analysis and bitching and whining and name-calling just isn't my thing.

i love this team, players, coach and all.

I know it is for the good of the team that any individual player's contact with the media is carefully meted and monitored. Youthful emotions and exuberance can easily result in a widely-proliferated sound byte that's either individually embarrassing or detrimental to the team.

Although there is no specific blanket NCAA policy in place for student-athletes - players know that (especially during the season) their Myspace and/or Facebook status have recently been joined by upstart Twitter on the "Off Limits" List.

It would stand to reason that there are also rules in place which discourage/prevent/prohibit(?) players from voicing themselves freely on a site such as this.

That being said - I would love to know what the players think of their fanbase's disposition and it's effect on current and future Tigers. If a current player (whose identity would be verified/name withheld) were willing to post an "Open Letter to All LSU Fans" and provide some firsthand insight - it may help unify the fractured Tiger following.

I'm sure individual players (and recruits) are affected to varying degrees on different levels - and we the general public for the most part know not what we do when it comes to E-xpressing our E-pinions... If somebody that actually tapes up on Saturday and steps on the field cares to clue me in - I'm listening.

Regardless of the school a player selects if he decides to read the opinions of the fans he's likely to read something that appears negative. You van visit sites for teams all across the country and fans are complaining about the coaches, players, media, etc.

LSU fans have a tendency to eat their own but we are not in that boat alone. Its a common trait found in all fans.

Wonder what he's thinking right about now.
If he knows anything about football, he's probably thinking, "this team is playing like shite!"

So you met him and he was a nice guy. That makes him a great coach?

The way he played last Sat., he has no room to criticize anyone.
