I agree but at the same time he was probably soon going to be fired from Youngstown State.

While I will acknowledge that the jury is still out on Scott Frost (not looking great so far), Nebraska has fired two pretty good coaches there over the last 20 years simply because it is no longer the '90s and things have changed nation wide.

Coaches since Tom Osborne with winning percentage, excluding interim:

Frank Solich 0.753
Bill Callahan 0.551
Bo Pelini 0.710
Mike Riley 0.500
Scott Frost 0.375

Frank Solich has coached at Ohio ever since, and has only had two losing seasons there.

They extended him through 2021 last March.

Pretty sure O is shooting for a Venebales like hire

Exactly. I think O wanted to bring in a guy he could trust to be there from year to year. With Aranda he never knew when the other shoe was gonna drop. By bringing in Pelini he's trying to establish long term stability for the program.

You can either go after some young hotshot genius knowing he'll soon be gone if things go according to plan or go with a veteran coach who has already went through his young hotshot phase.

I think it was proved to be a sham. Coach o said he didn't even know what was in it and the assistant to the regional manager guy made it.

I am continually amazed at how gullible some of you are.

Yes, there was a binder. No, Ponamsky and Thomas were not responsible for all of its contents.

Yes, the binder was Coach O’s philosophy on how to run a program.

And I might add that it has worked out very well for Coach O and LSU.

I got to know him in 2006-2006 and could have told you that about him. But you take the HC job because it’s the next thing. He didn’t like it though.

i agree that i think he wants to give up the other "BS" stuff a head coach has to do... but it was widely know that Pelini was not a fan of Miles.. Pelini is the kind of guy that wants to be left alone... let him do his work and leave him be... some guys are like that...

Right On! Coach O is creating a staff similar to Clemson. This staff will be filled predominantly with coaches content in their roles and location. Believers in and Lifetime members of The O System.

or even being in the community

I think Bo likes being in the community just not the spotlight in the community.

I agree that he is likely a permanent DC at this point and may be at LSU in that role a long time. Great foir stability if so.
