I'm honestly surprised by base hits at this point. No one looks like they have any idea what's going on at the plate. Thought this team would be pretty good, fuch it. Another season of small ball without timely hitting.

I feel bad for gibbs. the job is clearly too much for him at this stage. he'll probably end up being a great coach, but not right now

we have the largest budget in college baseball. any good assistant would pack their bags overnight to get here, regardless of timing. Paul shouldn't be fired, but his seat needs to be warm for fricking this hire up so badly

2014 is worse than this. 42 HRs. Team lead was tied at 7 between McMullen and Scivicque. 2012 had 42 HRs, too, but at least Katz had 13 to himself.

we hit great in 2008 and 2013. Sure there's reason to be mad, but that's just fricking dumb

My point is that each team goes through a period like this.

And no CWS semi-finals, finals??? Just 2009. His (CPM) CWS record is terrible

That has nothing to do with the bats being dead. I knew that is the exact response I was going to get, though. That's such a cop out. So if we don't win a national title or come within a game of it our team and everything about it sucks. Got it.

Agreed. I said the same in another thread. He was great as a player but at this level, the expectations are through the roof.

It's too much to put on him with little to no coaching credentials.

At this point, it's concerning to say the least. Mainieri should bring in a consultant or something. Don't leave it the way it is and just look for it to get better.

Yeah, 2010 was a damn fine hitting team. Offense carried us in many games because pitching dropped off so far.

2013 was probably Paul's 2nd best all around team. Just couldn't get it done on the big stage.

I don't know what the he'll happened to this team this year.
Are our 1-4 guys pressing so much because they feel they have to carry this team?
