I don't. He has had one good hire and that was by accident after Pat Murphy changed his mind and went back to bama.

No, he's shown with the last several hires he's content to go safe and cheap and hope it works out.

He does not seem to have the vision nor the connections to get outside the lines and make a dynamic hire.

And he also seems to be a yes man. And he too often listens to the wrong folks (See CT@).

He's cemented himself as the worst AD in SEC in perhaps decades. Aside from a few select names, I cannot think of any AD of a major school that rivals Alleva's persisting incompetence.

there are lots of good recruiters. we did fine before O and we'll be fine after he's gone..

then why not just name him the permanent coach as soon as you fired Les? we settled, plain and simple.

So you're fine with setting the program back a couple of years so you can get your flashy hire

LSU will likely replace the men's basketball coach this year. Maineri is not a spring chicken and could retire in the next few years.

Based on his record so far, do you trust him moving forward?

I was skeptical of firing Miles because I don't trust Aranda with any hire.

We need a closer and someone that isn't afraid to do a little negotiations - it's the nature of the business. Sale the program and our state

Wait. I just saw that you laughed at this statement. I guess you are ready to name the ones that aren't

Miles was an elite recruiter and was the launching point for the current top 5 class. Why fire Miles if that's the pinnacle. I agree O is an elite recruiter, but the past 5 years of LSU football has proven that it takes more than that when the GOAT recruiter and coach is in your division.

Continuity

Continuity is important to an extent, and I'm certainly glad to keep Aranda, but that staff you're lauding was part of a team that lost 4 games in a year they were supposed to contend for a CFBP spot. I'm not sure continuity and staff retention is enough.

An upgrade at AD is essential. It is a must and needs to be done before he hires anyone else. To be honest, we will probably have to hire men's and women's basketball coaches within the next season. The Coach O tenure will be probably be fine next season given that Aranda stays and he hires a competent OC (we could still win 9-10 games with Ensminger as OC) but after that it is up in the air, IMO.

Joe has proven that he can't hire worth a shite and that negotiating is not a strength. He PR nightmare with the way he handled Miles, last season and this season, and the way the Florida game was handled.

It's time to move in a different direction from Joe. I say go hard after Tom Jurich at U of Louisville. That guy can hire good coaches as he shown over his 15+ years there.

No but in his defense, he'll have to bust his arse to make a worse basketball hire this time around.

This is precisely why Alleva must be fired immediately. We need the new AD in place to conduct a legitimate coaching search for CJJ replacement.

Alleva would throw out a couple legit HC names during the search and make a few calls before ultimately hiring one of the Tiger Girls because she's "one of us".

frick Alleva.

F King will not allow Alleva to spend the money to hire a top tier coach. F King needs to go.

Pete Boone comes to mind. Ironically, he hired O at Ole Miss.
