to make plays on the ball? It's hard to argue with 2 forced fumbles.

I think he can make plays from anywhere. The guy is just always around the ball

I think it was good to put him there so opposing defenses don't know where the hell he's gonna be.

The guy plays out of his mind. I love the dude.

This is the result of having a defense this talented and deep. Our guys are good any position they play. : geauxtigers:

Yes, but I love the blitz when he's playing in the nickel

I agree with Birdman. When TM is at the Safety position, he seems more mobile and versatile. For he can come off the edge during a delay blitz or he can come over the top and cause havoc in the secondary. Dude just makes plays and always around the ball.

I think he should alternate like they did vs Arky.

Man I don't think it matters, the kid is a ball-hawk and makes plays no matter what position he's in...I love watching the guy play ball

Depends on the scenario.

I'd say a Tyrann back at Safety against a Alabama wouldn't be as effective as him up at the nickel. Really in the Bama game I think the players of the game should have been Eric Reid and Brandon Taylor. Both the safeties played downhill and made game changing tackles on Richardson.

Against Arkansas which likes to run 3+ WR sets. A play maker back at safety like Tyrann could be beneficial. Especially with Ron Brooks being pretty impressive as that rover nickel.

Think of this 3rd and long package:

DE- Sam Montgomery
DT- Michael Brockers
DT- Bennie Logan
DE- Barkevious Mingo
LB- Ryan Baker
LN-Tyrann Mathieu
RN- Ron Brooks
LC- Tharold Simon
RC- Morris Claiborne
S- Eric Reid
S- Brandon Taylor

Other than the big plays he made, I thought he struggled a little and was out of position several times...the few times Arky had wide open WR were a result of TM being out of position...there were several of us in the stands that noticed Reid's absence, he usuall blows those plays up underneath....but nothing to freak out about, just nit picking....it's sad that some of us resort to that, but were so damn good that I have to find something to bitch about

Are we sure he was at safety when he made those plays? Just want to make sure before we change a players position because of a good performance in one game

Ok I still say hes much better in his nickel role but I love seeing he can be effective in all the positions they put him in. They could probably put him at middle linebacker and hed find a way to make a play

love it, except I would prefer Freak or Rasco at DT instead of Logan

Exactly

He was moving around a lot in the Arkansas game. LSU is better with TM wreaking havoc. Not a fan of him being lined up at CB.

Move Reid to strong safety and tm7 to free, simon and Claiborne to cb.
