their similar in a lot of ways, and if we could get half the production from Harris were winning the National Championship no doubt about it.

I would be nervous if he carries the ball the way Boykin did at times.

I think he can put up similar stats as he does in even the SEC. I think Harris is that good.

So in a way, yes. Not exactly playing, just putting up high offensive numbers.

No man just no. You gotta watch more football. Thats basically asking does he compare to Braxton Miller. Harris is much more a pure qb. Boykin is more of a slash player. he's played WR as TCU as well. I doubt BH can play receiver.

My god, you people are over the top.

Can't we let Harris actually play a game or two to see if he can consistently lead our team? Comparing him to a Heisman Trophy candidate is a wee bit premature, don't you think?

Boykin is MUCH quicker and elusive. I don't think they are similar at all.

Dennis Dixon from Oregon back in the day, but Harris has stronger arm.

Very different players

But Boykin is a good example of what a year of growth can do

He was terrible in his first year, and tore up the nation last year

Don't participate in the discussion if you don't want to. But don't be a prick.

exactly. can we not be actual fans and want big things for our players? or believe our guys are every bit as capable as others.. this isn't setting them up for failure, rather believing and giving them confidence.

if not so be it, but the talent and the team is there to do it. there were glimpses of his talent on display in very minimal play.. a year in the system is everything in the jump to college football. most of the young talented freshman qbs lately are redshirts. in a way it is unfortunate harris did not reap this benefit, however in another way it may be beneficial in his learning that he got reps last season as well. he learned a lot. the unfortunate thing is some of the fans have toned down their confidence without recognizing LSU was incredibly young all across the board. there was certainly some serious growing pains. we did have a tremendous offense just two seasons ago, and we will again.

boykin had 15 tds to 10 ints his first season, then he had 7 tds and 7 ints in the following season.. then he exploded last season with 30+ tds to 10 ints.

brandon harris last season as a true fresh in incredibly limited time accounted for 9 total tds. there was that one stretch he lead the LSU offense to 10 straight TDs I believe.

boykin wasn't even a top 100 player in his own state coming out.. TCU made some offensive coaching changes last season and he benefited from time in the program and this change.. harris has a tremendous qb coach and he has put in the time needed. he has the talent to put up tremendous numbers. i am sorry if i don't want to settle for just mediocre qb play like a lot of fans.
