re: Do you really believe we go undefeated and win it all?

I have never in my life been as comfortable thinking that LSU may go undefeated in a season as I am this year.
Especially with the strong possibility of having a senior qb(JJ) reinstated back on the team to be used as a major trump card on the back third of the season in situations.

This is LSU's best chance to go undefeated. We have a solid running game, a reliable QB, a dominating defense, and consistent special teams.
However, I would feel better if our running game was a little more dominating and we had a better punt return game.

its hard not to think lsu will slip up at least once this year. but this team has as good of a chance as any team since 2007. we can NOT lose to bama or any chance of the sec or bcs championship game is gone.

I think we'll play well against Bama and Florida. The one that worries me is Tennessee. Not because they are good, but because we always seem to struggle against them.

Bama is the only one that really bothers me. Saban is a bit strange, in that if you game plan right you can blind side him. USCe did it last year and Utah did in the sugar bowl. His teams always look the same and our very predictable and for whatever reason, he sticks to his guns even on bye weeks so you end up with exactly the same team game to game.
Miles is a lot different in this regard.

I see a loss or two for the team. But hell, 11-1 would be a fricking great season for the Tigers, considering our schedule and the fact that we don't have a Tebow or a Cam Newton or an Ingram on the team. If this team goes 14-0, they oughta build a fountain statue of a giant Les Miles pissing into a groveling Nick Saban's mouth and put it at the entrance of TS.

Hell, we may lose 2.
We may lose 4.
We have more talent than any team on the schedule, except Bama and we're at least AS good as Bama.
Florida may be better than we thought- as does Auburn - Arky looks worse and Ole Miss is terrible.
Kentucky, Western Kentucky and Ole Miss should not be competitive games. That's just the way it is - a C+ or better effort in all 3 phases of the game should be enough to win all of those games by 2 scores, regardless of how well those teams play.
Tennessee is interesting, and may very well be competitive. I'm not scared of Tennessee - their only advantage is the game is at home.
Florida, Auburn and Arky will be huge games, but we have them at home. Arky still scares me the most, because I think Petrino is the most dangerous coach on our schedule.
Bama will be a war.

Not YES but HELL YES! With the landscape of college football this decade and all the emphasis on being A conference champion WE need to win every single game! The chances of a 2 or even a 1 loss team making it to the "ship" THIS season are very remote. Nothing intended to diminish the Oregon and West Virginia nation of supporters but the fact is Boise State is probably going undefeated and possibly another conference team or two (Stanford, OU or OSU, Texas, etc.) as well.
The SEC is indeed the premier conference based on sheer numbers but like everything else in life the underdog always carries the sentimental favoritism by the voters. If there is a 1 loss SEC team this season coming out of their conference championship it may not be enough - this year. We are the big SEC bully on the block. Besides - the run has to end eventually...
My best case scenario for a 1 loss Tiger team (say an "L" to upstart Fla.) would be for Fla. to run the table and we beat Ala. to win our division. If we whip them in a rematch it's possible/probable. Bottom line is we pretty much need to beat Ala. They may lose to Fla. in Gainsville on Sat. but that's it - before the meeting w LSU. Even that is a long shot scenario since Fla. would have to beat both Ala. and LSU in consecutive weekends.
So get ready for the most improbable ride most of us have EVER witnessed in our lifetime! I was born around the year LSU had their last perfect season and that was 50+ years ago. You might say the odds are against us but you might also rationalize that it's OUR TIME. Let it happen. NEXT! Geaux Tigers
NOTE: Funny thing but I think it was last year one of the analysts predicted an ALA vs LSU national championship. Haven't hear that scenario mentioned again. Seems like now would be the perfect time if ever for that discussion.

After some of the teams we've faced, I think we can pull off going undefeated (with some luck). As many have already said Bama will be the hardest.

I just can't think that far ahead and I hope the team can't either. One game at a time people - one game at a time. Ask me this question right before kickoff of the last game.

Brad Wing stays healthy...LSU goes 14-0.

That tennesse game has me a little worried especially since the way the game ended last year we will get thier best shot.

LSU is not going undefeated as long as Les Miles is our head coach. You people are retarded if you think this will happen.
Posted on 9/27/11 at 4:55 pm to Chuck U Farley
With some luck and no injuries..... you bet your arse!
But, let's not jump ahead. Kentucky is this week's opponent. Let's put them to bed early and see ZM in full mop up duty for the second half!
