Man the running game in first half of Idaho game scared me pretty good.
We couldn't get much going. But one half of one game is nothing to worry about.
So YES. We are sound in all three phases!

eta: wait. Open field tackling early in that Idaho game scared me too.

Yes. It's a constant process, but we are well on our way.

We are decent when compared to our opponents in coming games. Against Bama we need to play our perfect game to win.

Even that may not be enough, because Bama is perfect in all phases of the game and does not make mistakes. They only let scrubs sack AJ when it's part of the strategy.

Simple answer...yes.

I don't know what you are looking for? A shutout every game, a score on every possession, no dropped balls, every FG attempt made, every kickoff a touchback, no sacks, a running QB that throws for 300 ypg too?

What is it that you feel is missing?

Are these Tigers "perfect" no...but fundamentally sound?....absolutely yes.

Oh. I forgot to add that Bama has beaten the best Michigan and Arkansas teams to take the field in years, and LSU has played the easiest schedule in the NCAA.

That should just about do it for now.

Not yet, but I think they will be in time. LSU will never be as sound and disciplined as Bama and Saban. Miles doesnt coach that way... And it showed on 1/9. Hope we dont have a repeat of last year in the BCS Title game, because team discipline will win that one too. JMO

To beat Bama, we just have to play better than them. Jesus some of you are buying into the hype. We are just as talented as they are and just as well coached. Whoever plays better will win the game.

Fundamentally sound enough to win the National Championship.

If LSU was perfect they would never have to attempt a FG. Unless it was for shits and giggles.

If we would have scored 70 against idaho i'd say yes, but scoring only 63 has me worried.

No doubt. Whoever plays best on that day will win, reguardless. I was just stating my opinion in general:

a sound/discipline minded/a-hole coach is better (and wins more games against) than a nice guy, relaxed, family man, "its ok, we'll do better on the next play" kind of coach.. JMO. I think Miles is a great coach, but you will need strong team discipline to beat Saban when it counts. (a talented, disciplined team is better than a talented less than disciplined team on more days than not)Anybody who doesn't see that is not playing with a full deck...

It amazes me how many threads are popping up calling out players or the team. Some LSU fans expect perfection in every aspect I suppose.

Who said anything about the tigers being perfect? I think that's kind of understood that they're not perfect. He asked if they were fundamentally sound and like you say,yes they are.

Boy there are a lot of closet bama fans on this rant or a bunch of little pussy's!~ Michigan was highly over rated & Ark. ain't for shite. Ulm beat them. U boy's need to loosen up & enjoy the season. We will be fine but people act like we don't have a chance against bama.

So what was it in November of last year??? 9-6??

Statements like this are just dumb... Because Miles doesn't act a fool on the sidelines like Saban does, his teams are seen as not discipline..
