Do you ever remember getting less info out of August camp?

It seems like we are hearing less than ever out of practice. Is that just me, or does anyone else think so too?

For once we don't have off the field issues in August.

No. But I am glad. I think it is stupid to scout for the other team. Frustrates me but winning won't.

What info are you really missing, seriously? Until we play Auburn, we're not going to know what kind of team we've got.

No I think we will have a pretty damn good idea after State.

Actually no.

Normally we would get a little here or there, but he closed practices pretty damn early

I thought the coaches did a pretty good job of keeping things within practices and away from the media in 2011

The GridIron club was kept out scrimmages this year, correct? Pretty sure that's how this board got a lot of the observations and info from previous years

Two things:

1: Yes it's not a big deal whether we know anything or not. Id rather hear more but if it puts us at a disadvantage I understand.

2: I just don't see how it puts us at a disadvantage unless we are opening with a big time OOC team. The film from Mcneese will be 10x more telling for coaches scouting us than any stats or practice reports will ever be. State will see personnel groupings, formations, what players they need to focus on, and who our contributors are next week anyway. Then after state every team will know all they need to for the rest of the season. And everyone we play after state have other big games to focus on before LSU anyway

If miles came out and gave exact stats from our 90 play scripted scrimmage the other night do you think Mullen is reading tigerdroppings and game planning?
He will have stats and game film against an actual opponent during his game week preparations for us anyway. I think he knows the danger of Brandon Harris as well as anyone

I don't remember this type of lack of info since last preseason. Previously, it was the season before that.

1999, Dinardo's last year.

In 1998 the internet was new and there was all kinds of stuff coming out of camp that Gerry couldn't control. And 1998 was a disaster after 3 good seasons in a row.

The nexr year he turned the Ponderosa into the Soviet Union. Total paranoia. And, of course, it was a horrible year and he was fired.
