Yes, as he should be. The guy deserved one more year.

As long as he's 9-3 or so and the money keeps flowing in from football, Coach Miles is safe at LSU forever.

Sooooo safe that he woulda been fired this season if Jimbo accepted. This isn't logical in the least.

Apparently thinking he deserves one more year(FWIW, i'm not in that camp, I was actually ok with moving on or keeping him) means that you think it's ok to be mediocre for the rest of time.

So Alleva waited till after last night's game to finally say he wasn't being fired because?

That caused a huge national issue, we lost recruits for what reason exactly?

He's won a title and has 111 wins which means that we are handcuffed to him permanently until he retires.

So permanent that he was very nearly fired?

He is not on the hot seat because LSU will no longer be able to attract and hire a better coach. An elite coach would choose Georgia over LSU because the people running the program and university are not competent.

We were more than likely less than a million away from getting Jimbo Fisher, so there's that...

He defeated his boss, won over the powers that be, and said he's not changing his offense. And many clapped and cried joy for it. He's somewhat invincible now.

11/28/15: The night the hot seat turned to ice.

Thats the closest we will get to getting a competent coach to sign up for the job for a long time.

This is false, fwiw.

This is irrational, at best.

Your problem is you think that Jimbo actually received a formal offer for the LSU job. I don't believe that actually happened.

What happened is that LSU got in touch with Jimbo's agent with an offer in principle. Then the LSU powers that be announced the retention of Miles without ever getting any firm feedback from Sexton.

The folks who think that Miles will go 9-3 next season with all three losses in the SEC West then get FIRED are going to be disappointed again. Miles is MORE powerful now, not less powerful.

Ok. You can overreact, i'll sit here and be logical about it.

Coaches would hate to triple their salary and come to LSU with access to some of the best recruiting. Yep, they'll all turn they back on that job.

Sorry, didn't realize you were there.

This just all emotions talking, no doubt about it.

Anyone who thinks we can have more and more seasons like the last 3 and nothing happen is living in a dreamland right about now.

It's like the idea of giving him 1 more season is just IMPOSSIBLE to be true.

Alleva gave Les a lifetime contract after last nights impressive victory over the Aggies.

How can anyone remotely arrive at this insane conclusion is beyond me.

Beetlejuice , Les Miles would disagree with on you that. He specifically said that LSU is supposed to play for championships . So therefore he knows that two average seasons in a row is plenty enough reason to fire him.

I think his seat is warm for now. It really depends on how things shake out. If we end up with a new AD, I'd say it gets warmer. Alleva seems to have gone for it and lost.

If we have an inept (one-dimensional) offense again next year he's toast.
