Do you agree that 18 is for our "best" player while 7 is for our BEST player?

18 is the number we give to our "leaders" that are supposed to be our best or one of our best players.

Yet in at least 6 of our last 10 seasons our best player has been #7

No. 18 isn't necessarily meant for our "best" player. Just one who who embodies leadership and the tiger spirit or some shite like that-I don't know how it really works.

ETA: I'm also not really sure I understand what the frick this thread means.

Did you know that 7 + 18 = 25? And that 25 is a quarter of 100? And that there are 4 quarters in a dollar and also in a football game???

Wow.

The whole 18 and 7 thing is dumb.

One year we will have the next Anthony Munoz at Left Tackle, and he won't wear either number.

In the minority here but I have grown fricking tired of 18. Every off season its threads like "who will wear 18 blah blah blah". Now I have to read this shite during a bye week. Over it

18 is the yin, 7 is the yang

From 18 we derive our composure
From 7 we derive our swag

NFL looks at the guys who wear 18. But yea, I think the things asked are common knowledge, 18 is the leader guy etc. And 7 in usually a stud player.

The one #7 who has been forgotten but who was a stud as well is Ali Highsmith, I loved that kid, wonder what hes up to now days, bout to google

Yes.

Also let it be known here first that my sources say Fournette will wear 7 on the front and 18 on the back next year.

#7 may have the most ability, but what player's loss would have the largest negative impact on the team? #6 #52 #45
???

not much of a tradition thing for us. Is a big one for the players.

Think of it this way...
We see so many recruits that want recognition via rankings, camp awards, etc... which isn't new, it's just more visible. If they don't want to BOTH succeed and recognition, they probably are behind on the competative edge. Now take that player and put him at a big time program. To tell him you went from there as a recruit to a recognized leader in that nationwide brand program, it will effect him and those around him.

would you object to me putting that in my sig?

Btw, in regards to my post about "recognition"... what if next year LF7 accepts the jersey and becomes LF18? I can see it. Stud AND Leader. Yin AND Yang. The complete deal.
