It's hard to "run well" with 10 men in the box

Personally, i think LF was still bagged up from the Bama game. He didn't run like he was 100%, and Frank Wilson removed him for TM & DW.

How could he when there was nowhere to run due to the predictability of the LSU offense?

Agreed. There's not much anyone outside of Barry Sanders could do with any consistency with 9 in the box every down.

What helped us win the Wisconsin game was running from passing formations in the second half. Havent seen it since.

right

but out of the 3 RBs that were playing, Fournette looked the worst the other night

nothing was working, so I don't know why everyone is freaking out about this

With only 3 backs available, keeping legs fresh is a must...especially when your whole offense is predicated upon running between the tackles.

But it's kind of hard for your best back to get into any kind of a rhythm when he only gets 5 touches.

I don't disagree with anything you are saying

I just think that out of all the things that went wrong Saturday, this would be way down the list of things to get worked up about

I agree with this, and we know Miles will never mention an injury.

not getting LF touches was important because he is the only potential big play back. we needed a big play spark and we were not going to get that from Williams for sure and probably not magee.

I seriously think LF is nicked up. Bama was rocking him all night. Last helment hit was brutal.

Might be part of it. Dunno

Fresh legs, combined we ran for like 13 yards, I think our legs were fine.

It is funny to see everyone worried about personnel, aside from Harris needing to play...I don't care how many times he screws up...no one back is head and shoulders above another, nor a receiver.

Someone in this thread got it right though, our OL got their shite pushed in Saturday. Truly embarrassing and unacceptable. I can handle a QB sucking, and I can handle a RB missing a hole. But for an entire unit to just not try is beyond anything I have ever seen.

Our defensive players play with intensity and effort, even when things are not going great. Our offensive guys know that once it is 3rd and greater than 4, they may as well punt. It has to be demoralizing, but damn you can not quit.

It is not freaking out about Fournette not playing.
There is however, something extremely wrong with the response that Miles gave to the question put forth at the interview.

That the right "Packages" weren't available?

Les was lying. My own belief is that after asking Leonard five times to run against a brick wall he pretty much told them "frick this shite".

I pretty sure a few years back he said himself that he was going to be "honestly deceptive" whatever the hell that means...

This is dumb as hell reasoning. How many times this year has UGA ran Chubb 20, 25, 30, 35 and nearly 40 times? The dude is a home run threat. Keep hitting them until one breaks. I seriously, did any of the other RBs do much better?

Also, send the guy out for passes. Hell, send both Magee and Fournette out for passes on either side, and put Jennings in shotgun. As another thought arose when I said that, why in the hell are we not in shotgun more? Would also make the running game easier.

I remember reading Hill talk about the Saints defense yesterday. Said, they thought only sending 7 to stop the run, so he gashed them. Then they started putting 8 in the box, and that's when Dalton and AJ Green started lighting them up. LSU's philosophy is 8 in the box, run, 9 in the box, run.

Our runs also have no deception either. Even the little read option we were doing prior, is nonexistent now. We still haven't utilized speed option. I mean Spurrier has his pocket QB run speed option (he always pitches), and it gains big yardage every single time. Utilize your dual threat on rollouts until he is comfortable in the pocket. What about the little jitterbug Miquel James? Let's get some jet sweeps and fake those jet sweeps. Let's open the offense up.

One final thing is getting the calls in on time. Jennings has zero time to check the defense before the ball is snapped.

It's like the coaches are subconsciously sabotaging the offense.

It's like all we have in our offensive playbook are runs up the middle, and when they don't work we are shell shocked because we have no idea what else to do.

Kleinpeter from Nola.com basically said that was the dumbest things he's ever heard out of Miles.
