Pitching will be ungodly next year.

Poche, Lange, Bain, mcKay, Latz and Godfrey competing for the starting rotation. That shits just not fair

He was apparently telling people he was signing no matter what. So, it would be a reversal if he came back.

I think a lot of this also speaks to players wanting to get away from Mainieri as fast as they can.

And don't take that the wrong way: Mainieri is a great coach and is all about putting players through what he thinks will best enable them to have success at the next level.

Because of this, he is not a fun or "enjoyable" coach to play for. It's all about business.

So how do you explain players like Nola, Ibarra, Hanover, Rhymes, etc coming back for their senior years despite being drafted as juniors?

Maybe they crunched the numbers and decided it was in their best interests to do so?

I'm not saying everyone hates Mainieri. I am suggesting that like Bertman, he isn't fun to play for and that if you aren't ALL about your business you'll have even less fun. Some guys handle it OK, others not so much.

So you're saying that PROFESSIONAL baseball is less about business than CPM?

That is the dumbest shite I've heard yet and there is a metric frick ton of stupid around here

No, moron. That's not what I'm saying.

I know you're from Louisiana and all and the bar is REALLY low, but tell me - did they ever count how many times were you dropped on your head as a child?

Whatever you do, please don't tell me that this is typical of your reading comprehension skills. But I know you will.

They did not get drafted high enough to go.
LSU is a business so don't think it's not.
Unless you go 1-3 and get $$ why would a player leave?
Because they can't take another season of "business"

It has absolutely nothing to do with this. It's simply a matter does the team meet their signing bonus number or not.

You realize a junior, JUCO or H/S kid will get at least $100k through round 10? Right? Hell, you might even get lucky outside the Top 10 rounds.

A 4th rounder still gets $400k-$500k.

January supposedly had no real intentions of coming to a university, will likely end up at a JUCO then try for draft next year.

I don't understand it. He wasn't even drafted. I can understand if he was taken after round 10 and he wanted to improve draft stock but not have to wait 3 more years, but does he expect to go from undrafted to top 5 round after 1 year of juco?

I thought Taylor had already told reporters he was staying true to his commitment to LSU and not going to sign?

I think you're talking about McKay. Taylor has always been a commit that was wait and see, basically a hand shake to Mainieri to say thanks for leaving a spot for me if I do come.

Dawson was offered 650 k and was drafted in the 32nd round. We are lucky we kept him but I also think he will be our starting shortstop next year.

Both McKay (2nd round) and Dawson (3rd round) were contacted but declined initial offers.
