I know late in his outing he had more balls than strikes. That’s always been his downfall the walks but if he can replicate what he did against Ole Miss he can be a solid Number 3 for us

I am fine with our Sunday starter going 4 to 5 and leaving with us tied or so.
For me, a realistic goal at this point would be 4 innings and 2 ER from Sunday starter. Then piece together the remaining 5 innings, hoping to keep the opposing team to another 4 ER or less. That's going to require better pitching and defense (4 errors) than we saw today, but I don't think it's an unrealistic goal for the remaining 3 SEC series.

Little today only went 3.1 and was charged with 3 runs, I believe. It could have been incredibly worse though.

mean He was fine last week.

Ole Miss has the worst offense in the league. They made both Floyd and little look good. Neither are good right now

I think Hurd and Coleman are auditioning to replace him as the 3rd starter.

Hurd's numbers do not look any better than Little's Just the opposite if you ask me. Unless I'm looking at the wrong stat lines.

I agree, unless Coleman gets to the point where he can throw 90+ pitches. Thats when you start him, and then you shouldn't need as much from your pen.

3 decent innings and then in the 4th the bottom fell out/ pitch count got a little high
I'm in support of Little starting Sundays, especially if no one else separates themselves, but are we just going to act like the 1st inning didn't happen?

I feel like the pitches called could be better to give the opportunity for more efficient outings.

Overall, not just this weekend, both have lacked control. The difference for me is that Little has shown he can get batters out and fooled more easily than Hurd. Quite often Hurd had control and goes up 0-2 and then gives up a hit on 3rd pitch.

He had a bad day against a very good hitting team.

Whether the team can hit or not didn’t seem to be the issue

Every time I hear someone say this/read this, I ask WHO would you send out there as the 3rd starter. I have yet to hear a candidate. Christian was not awful. Yes, he had more walks than necessary but when he got ahead of the hitter, he did better. Alabama hit us very well this weekend when we had 2 strikes on them. I could not tell you how many 0-2 balls they got hits off of but it was a lot, especially during their 9th inning rallies.
