Another one rewriting history. Jamarcus racked up stars versus inferior competition.

. This. Our defense has been every bit the problem our offense has been this year. And yet there some on this board who continually defend them. They share equal blame in this collapse.

This is before everyone knew how much Les has a hand in the offense.

Abs what I remember about that game was that it was one of the hardest hitting defensive showcases I think I've seen.....and the refs.

Are you a troll, suffer a brain injury or did JaMarcus screw your mom?

If Russell racked up stats against inferior competition, so did Davey.

In 2006 LSU was #9 in scoring, #11 in total yards/game, #18 in passing yards/game and #31 in rushing yards nationally and #1 in the SEC it scoring and total yards, #3 in passing yards and 2nd in rushing. How the hell is that "under achieving"?

3 pts against Auburn, 10 against Fl, and sputtered against Ole Miss with possibly the most talented offensive group to play for LSU. Certainly a very good offense and maybe I'm too unrealistic but 2006 should've won a NC but the offense cost games.

My nephew was a trainer when Jimbo was with Miles. He told me he thought they were going to come to blows the week of the ND Sugar Bowl game in New Orleans. At that point, Jimbo was tired of Les' meddling. FWIW

fans are idiots, there were fans complaining about Saban when he was at LSU. The LAST thing I worry about is what the fans said about an OC, because they've all had bad games. LSU had a top 10 offense in 2006 and #1 in the SEC, if that's not good enough, well what more proof do you need that fans are idiots that expect the team to win every game 56-0 and never punt or allow the other team a first down.

Not really Russell Bc I loved JR. But I thought Jimbo's offenses went into a shell when it played decent defenses. Maybe that was Bc of Saban and Les. And I'd love to have Jimbo as HC Bc he's done great things since then. But at the time, I recalled struggles and conservativeness against the decent defenses, and the fact that 2007 LSU offense exploded made it seem Jimbo was the reason.

And if indeed Miles is not going to be back then neither will Steele. So the defense should improve by definition.

You think Jamarcus and Matt Mauck were good QBs?

He was a good enough QB to go #1 overall in the NFL draft

He only threw for 3,129 yards, 67.8%, 28 TD-8 INT with a QB rating of 167 in 2006
