What is the deal with the online portion?
You have to have a cable/satellite provider that offers the SEC Network to access the online streams. No open subscriptions.

Now that Comcast deal is done, Directv deal has to be close
No way it doesn't happen now

Anyone with a brain knew all along directv would get it. It was all the retards on here that don't have directv that we're trying to troll that said it wouldn't happen.
It's funny the number of people that speculated and said "based on the research I've done, I honestly don't feel like they'll get it". Buncha idiots

If you take any prognostication on here about any subject, you better do it with a huge grain of salt.

We cannot switch to U-Verse, but then, we have Dish, and it will be included in the AT200 (and possibly the AT120) and above for no extra charge.
My contract expires with Direct on 8/22, so I am opting out 1 month early.
Right now, I pay about $150 for DTV plus my bill would go up for whatever I would have to pay for SECN (let's say another $10). HBO is the only movie channel I have.
I have AT&T DSL (for another $45/month), but since we didn't use the web that much at home, it hadn't really been an issue just for basic web browsing. I want to do some more streaming to my TV so I was looking to upgrade my internet.
Right now, I am paying about $195/month for TV and internet.
For 12 months I will get U450 (every movie channel known to man it seems like) on Uverse, Disney on Demand, ESPN Goal line, NFL Red Zone, Longhorn Network, Pac 12 Network, a wireless box to have multiple TVs in the same room or outside and get my internet upgraded to their highest "rated" option for $150. That's almost $50 a month savings for an entire year based off what I currently pay and even more after I had to add SECN. I also get $200 in Visa reward cards for making the switch.
At the end of 12 months, my new bill will total about $40 more than what I pay now, but I would have to pay for the internet upgrade anyway AND SECN anyway if I stayed with Direct so after saving $800 ($200 in rewards and $50/month) for a year, I pay back about $500 the following year but keep the upgrades.

I don't take anything on here. I usually laugh at most of it because it's so inaccurate.

I called Directv and told them i wanted to cancel due to not having the SEC Network and was told they were almost certain DTV will have it soon.
They threw in 30 bucks off per month, the Genie, free movie channels for 3 months and NFL Sunday Ticket free for the year.

LOL at all you guys who thought Directv wouldn't get it
they always have been the king of sports and are about to renew the sunday ticket and will get the sec network and longhorn network by next week
you guys forget that the network launches in a month and in programmers terms that's a lifetime. most deals aren't done until the 11th hour
BTW Uverse and DISH blow. Dish is raising rates 9/1 BTW

I know that they are going to get it. I was playing the game to get some free shite. They give it to new customers, why not existing customers?

Did the same... Got 50 bucks/month off for a year, Genie, and 1/2 price NFL Sunday Ticket Max for a year!
If you're thinking about doing this, better do it soon, because the rep said an announcement should be coming any day.

I called DTV to complain about my doubts they would be able to offer the SEC network to me as well. They gave me $119 off per month for life and offered to start a trust in my son's name! Better call quick! TIC TOC TIC TOC

It's funny that this generated so much animosity.

When your conference wins 7 of the last 8 national championships in football, your highlights are shown on cable.
When your highlights are shown on cable, your popularity escalates.
When your popularity escalates, blog sites talk about you.
When blog sites talk about you, haters hate.
Don’t let haters hate. Get rid of cable. And upgrade to Direct TV.
