well, count me as a meauxron then. i have been vocally opposed to crowton for years now and the minute he leaves, our offense improves exponentially. if it's was the lack of qb experience, it was because they didn't have enough experience to overcome his overanalytical bull shite. wholesale substitutions, over complicated play calling and massive confusion is what i distinctly remember. and now that is gone. i'm sure the guy knew a lot about offensive football but imparting that wizardry on others was not only not done but he "mucked" up the offense. and i'm always supported miles to the hilt.

You sir are cluless . Crowton's multiple substitution packages MEER Kat offense put too much pressure on the QB to make quick read decisions. He frequently only got the player package and play on the field with only 8-10 seconds on the clock. Multiple penalties , and bad reads because he asked his uncoached QB to do too much! Crowton Sucked.

Weak sauce. Miles had planned on putting the #12 rated QB in all of the NCAA on the bench. Until outside forces intervened, and left him no choice.

Think about that one more time. A QB ranked in the Top 10% of the nation, has been sitting our bench for over 2 years.
WTF?
When in '08, '09 or '10 did LSU have a #12 QB??????

Wow! That shite dilutes the weak sauce.

So from my original post of three hours ago, we are all in agreement that we really don't EXACTLY agree about how we are moving forward. Sort of what I expected, but everybody who chimed in with "beaucoups" comments, opinions, and, God forbid, facts certainly gave me more to think about.

I didn't see anybody truly disagree with all that I said, some not all. So that makes me think I am reading this correctly. As for the next game, I am feeling confident to a small degree. I think it is possible that Kenny Hilliard could be a factor. I like how he runs, and I feel like he gets better as he gets more and more carries.

BTW, "beaucoup" comes from the French -- obviously -- and it refers to a lot or and aboundance, but it literally means "beau" for beautiful and "coup" for strike or hit. Think Coup d'etat.

Seems to me we are much more organized and have not had many presnap penalties. Seems we have a real qb coach because both guys look a lot better. Although I have to say Jimbo Fisher told me Jarrett Lee when he signed Lee that he had pro potential because of his arm, and Krag has obviously coached our QB's they are both playing much better. It's hard not to argue GC was a big part of the offensive confusion we seemed to have while he was here. We are a different team that has not made many stupid plays. I can tell you this JJ certainly runs the option a lot better.

Agreed, especially about running the option. I am beginning to look at the option as a lagniappe thing. It's an extra, that when it works well, we get something good in the nature of yardage. When it doesn't, it seems to present the mindset for a likelihood of a set running plays that occasionally catches a DB out of postion for a Randle type reception.

The only thing diluted so far in this thread is your IQ.

We currently have the #12 rated QB in the nation. That it a fact. Yet we didn't know that we had the #12 ranked QB, because from Dec. 31, 2008 until Sept. 3, 2011 he was sitting the bench. It's hard to be ranked, when you're not getting enough snaps to qualify. Now isn't it?

Which is also kind of lame because:

1) Lee is much better now than he was in previous years

2) Our offensive coaching and OL are much better this year than in years past

And we know that how?

All I remember was that Lee coming out of high school was the MVP of an Elite 11 camp, and described as the most accurate passer coaches had seen, per Pat Summerall

He did fairly well as a freshman, considering the '08 defense. But hadn't really been seen since then.

One thing people over look is how dominant our offensive line is compared to last year.

Solid quarterback play would be my #1 reason.

This........is dumb.
You think solid qb play will fix a clusterfricked mindless offensive scheme?

Case in point.
The Wiz took a qb with a solid 9-4W-L, 22TD 8int 2010 season, and pretty much ruined him in '11 (2-6W-L, 5TD, 6int).
Anything faintly familiar?

Yeah, Maryland's QB was on the watch list for the 2011 Maxwell Award ... a candidate for the Davey O'Brien and Manning Awards ... named the 2011 preseason ACC Player of the Year by Lindy's ... a consensus 2011 preseason first team All-ACC choice ... named to the preseason first team by Athlon, Blue Ribbon, Lindy's and Sporting News ... a second team all-league choice by Phil Steele ... and Crowton turned him into a backup by game 5.

The Bammers up here still think Lee is the same one that threw all of those pick sixes 3 years ago and we still have the same dismal offense we had the last two years. They are banking on this and that is the reason most of them think they will win.

They will try to pressure him, but the reponsibility of countering will fall on the OCs to anticipate the pressure to have different screens available to counter it. Lee will have to stand in there and take some hits from the toughest defense we'll face.
