The season boils down to Alabama. LSU is not good enough to beat them at what we do best and we have no plan B.

This, in two weeks the season will turn from a national title contending one to one that ends in Dallas or Orlando. People are panicking and it's well deserved.

Over 100 yards in penalties is not well played.

I thought the defense played lights out after the first quarter yesterday. I also realize that 97 passing yards is not going to beat Bama. Hopefully they figure something out in the off week.

How many passing yards did we have last Nov?

Penalties are really the only head scratcher now.

...and the anemic offense, but Les won't do anything to remedy this.

That first quarter was about as ugly as it can get for both sides of the ball

Guess it's a good thing there are 4 quarters to every game then.

We also had an option attack that they were not prepared for. The Power I run game was shut down in that game as well as the second time we played them. The only thing that did work in November was the option and it had limited success.

We haven't shown an option this season and have no success in the passing game. Proof is inthe pudding.

Averaging 31 points is anemic?

And we don't have the lights out special teams and takeaways to boost the stats like last year, so don't bring that up.

Because the WRs can't get separation and th OL doesn't give Mett time. I'm not sure what's so hard to see this. LSU can only line up 2 WRs and that's the only options Mett has because they're in max protect. Without WRs that can get separation/open, this is what were going to see. I just wish they'd put 3-4 WRs on the field at times. Also, not having a TE is killing this passing team. Desean Smith is going to get every opportunity next year to get on the field.

Believe me I agree. I understand why they only run two receiver routes and that all falls under the passing game can not take advantage of what the defense is daring them to do. This falls on every offensive position on the field not just qb and wr.

Is the wild cat not an option play that has proven successful? Coupling that with the emergence of Jeremy Hill and I think there is plenty Bama will need to worry about with our ground game. Let's not forget they don't have the extra week to scheme.

there is a want for another NC. some LSU fans expectations are not based in reality and some are die hard Sabanistas. they want a team like last year and they want a disciplined well oiled offensive machine. and for some very strange reason, some of our fans think they are important to the program; that they have the "answer" and our professional coaching staff are morons. so yes, they want a flawless performance every game; the one they perceive alabama has. they covet nick saban and want him back. and they can't understand why their prowess in video game football is not emulated by les miles.

Mett has only thrown one touchdown pass against sec opponents when every team dares him to throw it. Redzone offense is also a major concern.

And yet we have win all but one SEC game so far. When you have a defense like ours, you can do that. But feel free to stay negative.

The only complaint should be the ridiculous amount of penalties.

I'm going to continue to bitch about our red zone offense. You can't say that's not an issue that will bite us.

Most everything else I'm happy about.

Remember, good is the enemy of great. Fans like the OP are perfectly ok with just good. I am not. I want great. I am not ok with mediocrity and never will be. I could care less how bad it was in the 90's. College football has changed tremendously since then and we have the resources to be a top 5 program every year. The fact that we do not live up to our potential ever and we see our former coach;s team absolutely living up to theirs is very, very frustrating. I want greatness and nothing else.

Good game plan and coaching no doubt, but we have problems scoring in the red zone and moving the ball through the air period. Miles has to deal with what he has and as much as he can frustrate me because he is unconventional he has done a brilliant job with it.

excellent post, sir. to the point and highly accurate. the injuries, suspensions and academic and personal issues this year would drive me nuts. but, somehow through it all, this team will win 10 or so games in the toughest league in america. but some people always want perfection and that's sad but the real sad thing is their so called "solutions" to our problems. if they could fire our coach, we would have the TCU or the West Viginia coach in a minute; never mind they haven't and probably never win any championships, they are creative and elequent speakers.
