I think maybe on Lange. I think Romero perhaps keeps Lange more even keel like Schvique seemed too.

I am not sure with Poche.

It may just be coincidence that the improvement in Lange and the troubled outings by Poche coincided with Romero moving to full time catcher.

When I saw Romero in fall ball I remarked to a friend Pap would have strong competition at catcher. You can't leave his bat on the bench and if he is the reason Lange has rebounded that is all the more reason to keep him as the starter. Poche's outing today says to me that his troubles were not catcher related.

It may take a little getting used to but Romero seems serviceable enough.

his bat has damn sure impacted them.

Well, didn't Poche and Valek start sucking right about the time Lange found his groove?

Yeah, Romero savedLange and ruined Poche and Valek.

don't know but I do know the catcher is more important to the success of a pitcher than most people think

If thats really the issue, then just let pap catch poche. If that really fixes the problem, then its worth it.

Behind the plate? No

At the plate? Yes, he has helped them very much.

Fwiw, Romero now leads the team in BA, Rbi's , HR's, & Slugging percentage.
On base % he is 2nd.
