Playing the three teams we played this weekend in a neutral site is better for our team than playing a cupcake at home. Sometimes it's not about the money, it's about getting our team ready for SEC and postseason play. Also, I haven't really seen any complaints from Tiger fans about the weekend, except for long lines at the concession stands.

I commented on the element of exposure, but the money is very important and there is no requirement to only invite cupcakes to BR.

Right but how many non-cupcakes are dying to travel to BR and play LSU(Rhetorical question)? Not to mention how brutal the SEC slate is.

Well we exposed our young pitching staff and some other young guys to a full series away from home to prepare them for SEC play. How's that for exposure?

Exactly. There's around 300 D1 teams, and LSU is a top 5 program. There aren't many good teams willing to come to BR.

Exposed them to what? They said LSU had twice as many fans as anyone there. Plus you telling me you can't find a school that would love to come to BR to try to beat the tigers? That's ridiculous.

Learning to prepare for a game against tough competition on the road is something valuable to be exposed to for our young pitchers before conference play.

Doesn't matter if it's mostly your fans in attendance, it's about learning the routine of things.

Without us returning the trip? Doubtful.

LSU baseball turns a minuscule profit in a very good year .. College baseball is a regional sport with very little broad national appeal .. Anyone that thinks otherwise is kidding themselves ..

Big name teams usually won't play a non conference series away from home without a return trip. A team like Stanford, CSF, Florida State will not just stroll in the Box unless we can guarantee a return trip to their ballpark.

Skip did not bail out on the WinnDixie Challenge. The greenie AD at the time tried to play hard ball with Skip regarding equitably splitting the gate & Skip told her "we bring the crowds, we get to keep the most money. Take it or leave it". He called her bluff when she threatened to pull the weenies out of the tourney, Skip told her "see ya later". The UNO & weenie games were drawing less than 1,500 whereas LSU was packing in close to 6-7,000 for its 3 games. Much like this past wkend, when Houston played Baylor, according to a source in the paper, they drew only 200.

I found out from the athletic office that LSU gets $10,000 to play in this event, and pays for its own travel and expenses.

Makes the Houston boosters happy though. Hope it becomes a yearly thing after 2017

Absolutely. Make it a tradition as long as we play a variety of quality opponents to prepare for conference play. It would be great if they would add a team or two from the west coast every year.

I doubt it becomes annual. But I could see going there every 2-3 years.
