Was it just lip service about visiting other teams to learn more about spread offense? Was there any reports if they actual visited anyone?

Coaches visits different schools every offseason. The more famous ones were when Urban, Rich Rod, and Chip Kelly all got together back in the day

We have a former offensive lineman as a head coach and he has been the most successful coach in the history of LSU football...we are a smash-mouthed running football team and that is not going to change.

The answer is not the spread. The answer is smarter play calling and better QB coaching.

I will say add execution to that list.

LSU offense is unstoppable. Why would they ever change anything.

Yes, embrace and pump the mediocrity.
The most successful coach in the history of LSU football must win the SEC West and beat Alarammerjammer this season.

Second best in the SEC in that time, though. So it automatically makes it good. Expecting any better than 62% is just shitting on Miles. Right RickyDaddy?

And lucky for him, he can pay for top defensive coordinators, offensive coordinators, and assistants yet STILL has a 20-12 record in the SEC since 2012. 5 Straight losses to Alabama, two straight losses to Arkansas, first coach to lose to Miss St. since 2000 (only loss to Moo St. in 15 years of LSU football).
He's on Gerry DiNardo level since 2012. There are college football teams that rise from mediocre to elite status in the time frame since 2012.

Spread offense sucks.
Tell that to the hoards of opposing coaches who have successfully used the spread against LSU in recent years. I watched a YouTube archive of LSU vs. TROY STATE a couple of nights ago, and a mediocre Troy team made the LSU defense look silly.
