Was clm coaching philosophy one of the reasons jimbo left ....

from what I remember a lot of people were happy to see jimbo go ....

Btw I think jimbo would be a home run hire imo....

Yes. I know it via a good friend of his while he was here - QB coach at Nicholls State

ETA: Jimbo and Les got into a shouting match during a game bc Les kept overriding his calls, one of the reasons he left.

without pulling up stats and just off of memory it seems like we played really conservative in a lot of games jimbos two seasons with les ....

Two games that stick out to me was the 2nd half of the 05 Tennessee game and the 06 auburn game ....

Yea hanny actually went into this a bit during the week. I believe one of the times they butted heads was 06 when we beat bama in the last seconds with the throw from Russell to bowe. Miles didn't want that play called and wanted to do something different and Jimbo said bullshite run the play. We scored and won. End of story

You can tell the difference between our qbs who were developed by Jimbo as opposed to the ones that were not.

On the play at Bama in 05, we were down by 3 in OT, 3rd and goal, Miles wanted to be safe and run the ball, Jimbo said F that we're going for the win. We won.

He was handcuffed and this is a fact. Clash of offensive philosophies. I remember how Perrilloux was coming along nicely at one point.

Probably a moot point now. I feel Les has interfered/handcuffed every OC.
It just seemed he had an "ok I'll take it from here" stance as the game progressed.

Maybe that is why there seems to always be long delays getting in the call which led to many penalties and time outs.

Jumbo is a close Bowden family friend. He went to FSU because he knew he would get his shot there.

That game was a glimpse into the future with Les. He kept running a broken down Alley Broussard and Justin Vincent into a stone wall.

qb play definitely went down when jimbo left , the main reason I started this thread was because of posters saying " remember when jimbo was here we wanted him gone "

Or we don't want jimbo

I don't want Jimbo as a replacement.

However, to answer the OP, since Jimbo was the OC, and since he's done that to every OC at LSU, then YES, Les handcuffed him.

My opinion is yes, but I can't pretend to have inside info on the dynamics of that staff.

I do know that whoever signed off on that game plan at Auburn in 2006 signed off on one of the worst I've ever seen, and at the year end banquet Les said they'd do it exactly the same again, that it was the right plan.

Was he taking up for Jimbo? IDK.
