It seems like we were coming up with and putting in place options to make this game happen as far forward as Tuesday. We offered to change days, change locations, offered to help move their team, offered to set them up in hotels, etc. I haven't heard a single thing about Florida coming up with a contingency plan. Did they ever have one?

They waited until yesterday afternoon to say they didn't have any options, so it would seem like their only plan was to cancel the game and blame LSU

Based on what JA said on the radio this morning, the answer is a big fat "NO". They never entertained the idea of playing anywhere except gainsville, or at any other day/time than Saturday.

Actually, I would think the SEC should have a contingency plan for this seeing how the majority of the schools are in hurricane ally

They specifically said in a press release earlier this week that the game was not going to be played outside of Gainesville. And in discussions with Alleva and Sankey, they refused to play on Sunday or Monday, even in Gainesville. So, No. They had no intentions of playing this game.

No they didn't. They have an insurance policy if they lose the LSU game because it was caused by weather. So they don't lose much money and they don't get a for sure loss this weekend. It was a complete chickenshit move they pulled.

Bottom line: UF was afraid to play.

Their insurance company should say "frick you", you could have played the game, we're not paying

I don't see how the insurance company doesn't say that. You think they're gonna be excited to fork over several million?

The real question then becomes, why isn't the SEC forcing a forfeit?

Because the new SEC commissioner is getting walked all over by Foley. Alleva even said in his interviews that Sankey and the SEC barely even butted in during discussions until it was way too late. The SEC wasn't offering any solutions.

Bingo. Going forward every game should have a required contingency plan. SEC needs to avoid getting played like they did this time around. The conference has to be stronger than they showed this week.

This. They played it perfectly. I mean they could not have done it any better. Just stall, stall, stall and then, "Oh we can't play! Perish the thought! We have to think about safety because after all, safety comes first!"

It was a no lose scenario for them. They still get some money, they don't get a loss, and they get to sit up on a moral high horse talking about safety. And the best part is that it somehow get's turned around against LSU! "Since LSU wanted to play the game they didn't care about the safety of our people. We offered to let them cancel a game later in the season and play us but they refused."

I'm not sure how they get a pass on this one. They really purposely fricked up everything and then blamed it on some magical "shift" in the hurricane projection, when it hadn't changed more than 10-20 miles since Monday. They waited for it to get too bad to play, and then said it was too bad to play.

How were we able to begin planning on Tuesday, and they had nothing?
