Right now, the majority of the national media perceives LSU as a mediocre, waning program helmed by a stuttering moron. Hence, we have been relegated to being an afterthought. That is simply the truth regarding the current media perspective on the program.

I will say this, though. I really do believe the talent level on this team is being underestimated. We are not less talented than Auburn, Arkansas, and Ole Miss.

+1

I also will throw in that JJ's performance in the ESPN televised spring game was atrocious. That pretty much sealed the deal on press coverage. (And from what I'm hearing on the scrimmages, he's not looking any better). I will re-iterate. LSU desperately needs to have a solid running game this year. We just don't have SEC caliber QB's to rely on. If there is no improvement on our OL, (in particular run blocking), I'm very concerned about another 7 to 8 win season at best. If we are as poor offensively as last year running the ball, cue the "Fire Les" signs in the student section for the Bama and Ole Miss games.

frankly, until LSU proves they can run their offense and until the staff proves they have a handle on game day decisions, we probably need to be less hyped. as far as respect is concerned, the staff and players need to do it the old fashioned way...they need to earn it.

Amen....thats all that needs to be said regarding gaining respect from the media.

Honestly, you could not ask for a better atmosphere for your team. No huge preseason hype means less pressure and temptation for team to get too full of themselves.

Heres to hoping they play pissed off this year.
