Spoke a lot about the SEC. LSU was not even mentioned(not even in a bad way). It's one thing to get negative press, but it's quite another to be totally ignored. The only time they were mentioned was when they were breaking down Bama's schedule where they picked Bama to beat LSU. I dont know about you but this really gets me going. Hopefully, and much more importantly, fuel like this can get the Tigers going!!

I thought they went out of their way to not mention LSU.

For a guy who played college football, Robert Smith is a horrible analyst of the sport. He is truly the worst.

They talked for 5 minutes about the SEC West Al, Ark, Auburn...not a single word about LSU. I found it amusing. Yeah its nice to be a media darling, but face it, LSU Football is not. And really, who gives a shite.

Herbie picked Auburn FWIW.

I agree... It is strange. No one... Absolutly no one is talking about LSU outside Louisiana. (That is the way we need it)

I believe we all have the same concerns about the team just like any year. You know the coaching staff has to love it.

The "Us against the world" form of motivation has been used successfully many times before...I'm sure that its something that the coaches are trying to include in their preparations.

I dont find it strange. If they wanted to, they could be crucifying LSU for its performance the past 2 seasons. Especially the coaching miscues.

I wonder if there is still hard feelings about the Miles to Michigan thing. They don't put LSU in the video montages that lead in and out of breaks for CFL. (Almost every halfway decent team is represented) I believe LSU was the only college football champion not included in the video montage of all of the years champs that frames the SportCenter intro in the last 4 or 5 years. UF was in 07 and 09, and now Bama. Almost like its a purposeful retribution for Les making ESPN look bad.

ETA; seems like they only mention LSU when they
absolutely have to, unless it is negative. They did crucify
Les for Ole Miss. I notice a lot of snarky comments and sarcastic giggling on subjects pertaining to LSU.

I know, I'm a paranoid conspiracy theorist.

Though I do watch the four letter network often, only because there really isnt another alternative, who really gives a crap what they are saying. Herbstreit picking Auburn was ridiculous, and everyone is in love with Arky because of Mallet and the playmakers they got on offense. They cant stop anyone, so throw them out of the wash. I'm telling ya, we won 9 games last year with a kid at QB that wasnt quite ready for what he had thrown at him for a full season. Miles made some big mistakes, and hopefully has learned from them. I know the Bammers have some pretty big time guys over there, but even with that we are going toe to toe with them, and they are supposed to be worlds apart better from us. Just think about it...9 games with everything that happened last year. We couldve easily won the Florida game with a more seasoned QB, and the same with Bama. We will all pin the Ole Miss game on Miles, but JJ had some moments of "what the heck" that game to. I got a good feeling about him this year. Those guys at ESPN like glam, and bling, and flashy things, and apparently we dont fit that billing. Thats ok. Hopefully JJ will start learning to look to his check downs instead of throwing the ball away or trying to run. Remember he did throw close to 20 TD's with only 7 INT's last year. Our playmakers on both sides of the ball are there, though maybe a year away from being at the "ESPN" caliber if you would. Calm down everyone, the boys will be alright.

Yep. Saw the replay some time last night and thought it VERY interesting that not one of the talking heads even mentioned us...I am strangely okay with it.

Great, this is where we want to be. It seems that the state gets no respect. Look at how the media is also saying the Saints were a fluke.Cant wait to get this season started

Great post and spoken perfectly.

" Did you notice Griese's comment about Bama D " I can't remember which team when he predicted there wins. He said they won't lose with this loaded D.... He commented like they were returning the entire team.

Beside running under the radar. It is nice not to have the NCAA around like, SC, Tennessee, UNC..

Now I probably just screwed ourselves.

I hope that is the case and he is ready now. Success starts with a QB that manages the game and doesnt try to do to much.

I am pulling for JJ and JL but success will depend on their ability combined with the coaches ability to Execute. Stating the obvious I know, but execution has been lacking way too much over the last couple years.

Do you seriously enjoy not hearing anything about LSU from the national media?

I suppose LSU should save money by canceling the sports information dept, and lower ticket prices.

I would enjoy listening to them talk about Peterson on defense and how much Ford, Blue, Ware, Sheperd, and Randall will add to 112th ranked offense this season.

I think that's what we need... I do somewhat take it as a slap in the face. but if you were a pre2003 LSU fan, you would know we excell as underdogs. we will put the fear back in out name, this year will surprise our own "fans". Put it on the shelf and book that shite

Based on the fact that Les Miles is still the coach and Jefferson is still the quarterback,I for one can see why they had nothing to say!!!
It ain't that hard to figure out when you take off the purple and gold glasses!!

I feel the same way; however, I am hoping for dramatic improvement. It could happen. If it doesnt though, I wont be shocked.

I will predict this, LSU will be better this year. How much better remains to be seen.
