to the ones that are just playing this off as it is just a practice. Go and watch Drew Brees how he practices. Thank you!

I remember when my dad would hit me pop ups I would think "God that form is awful. He needs to rotate his hips better."

Im trying to hard? But everyone else seems to think by looking at a 20 sec video that we still dont have a qb. This is the most pessimistic board ever..guess they should stop practicing and cancel the season

It wasn't a 20 second video, it showed Harris making what, 20 throws. And he was off on about 5 or so, with a couple being WAY off (I didn't go back and count, so I'm just estimating).

No, it's not a reason to cancel the season (I just love the over-emotional types). But if you're not at least a little concerned over this, then you've got the P&G glasses on.

After all, Harris has known for awhile that his short pass accuracy needs work, so you'd think he's throwing this pass 100 times a day. So when we see this video, with too many inaccurate throws for simple 10 yard passes, it just raises a red flag.

Not the end of the world, just something that's of concern.

Or are smart enough to know that we don't run the gauntlet drill in games so it's really super irrelevant

Lindsey Scott looked and looks like the most natural thrower out of every QB on the roster

Right after he committed I said let this guy start day one and he would become the greatest QB in LSU history. Of course I got blasted, and it'll never happen, but the guy has the talent and moxie to lead a football team.

no, but if a QB struggles to make accurate 10-yard throws to guys running straight across the field with no defense, then I doubt it will be better in actual games.

But hey, I guess I'm just an idiot.

I hate when everyone overgeneralizes based upon a couple practice videos.

Well, maybe cause for concern, but not yet cause to panic. Quarterbacks should try to make every throw on target. If the coaches want someone to practice missing, they could get a defensive back or a lineman to throw. Harris has been streaky and when he is off, he tends to be way off. He tends to miss high and I would personally prefer that if he misses, he misses low (harder to intercept). I would hope that he improved his consistency a little over the offseason, but I think I would wait until at least the scrimmages to decide he has a major problem.

Exactly, the coaches want to get players the ball, including the TE. Harris just needs to make the plays. I'm a lil worried he won't.

I'm not really worried about it. I doubt Harris was really worried about making perfect throws. If Cam Cameron walked up to him and told him he needs to make every single throw and put some pressure on him then I think he misses one throw, maybe. No biggie.

Dude I'm with you. Lindsey Scott had some of the best HS QB tape I've ever seen. It's a joke that Cam Cameron wanted Feliepe Franks over Scott IMO. I'm ready for him to prove all of the doubters wrong.

So a QB who has had trouble making accurate short throws isn't worried about making accurate short throws in practice?

Are you fricking insane?

Meh. I saw two lazy passes. 3 more should've been caught.

And i would imagine the drill is difficult, considering 18 different plays all run at different speeds, heights, etc.

ETA - based on just that drill, not worried.

Well our receivers in games run at different speeds and are different heights.

The excuse-making on this board knows no bounds.

You're freaking out over a video of a drill, that you have no idea about. Did you see several of the players jogging through the drill? Should they sit this year?

Honestly, I'm not sure how well Harris is going to play, but it definitely isn't over this drill.

And it's definitely realistic that the throws are not supposed to hit them perfectly. Since it is 100% a receiving drill, wouldnt you think the way to make them better is to work on catch passes that are NOT perfect?

Now I'm going to bow out of this thread and see if i can find one with less stupid going on...
