In spite of what others are saying (and complaining about), this year's LSU squad still controls its own SEC destiny to a large degree (unless Aubbie wins out). The bitching stems around losing a future home game when this year's team is "already out of contention ". I call BS on that beta line of thinking. Additionally, It is my understanding that there is an SEC rule stating a team not completing a full conference slate is ineligible for the conference championship game. If so, and this team gives us our best chance at a title when considering talent in his opinion, then Alleva had to go this route IMO. The pressure is on CEO now though so let's go handle some business. FU UF and Geaux Tigers.

I guess it's better to give up a home game next year than this year, given the current state of the BR economy after the flood? Idk.

I'm still okay with it.

This is the part that I firmly believe Foley didn't know about when he was refusing all the offers to play the game. He was asked about it in his presser today. He waffled on the answer. I believe he thought the game would not be rescheduled and that FL still had a shot at the SECCG.

I believe that's a large part of Alleva's position.

There's conflicting information about tbat. Prior to today, it was generally accepted that "win %" would determine a conference champion if a team doesn't play all 8 games.

Someone on here said this new info came from Finebaum. I'm not sure what to believe about this.

Oh no doubt...frick, I don't think Sankey knew it.

Had Foley been told "Look, this game will be played in Baton Rouge. You can do it this weekend or you can do it on Nov 19 and both of you buy out your opponents on your own dime" I'd be willing to bet the game would have been played last weekend.

He thought this game was going to be in gainesville or not played.

The part about being ineligible for the SECCG just came out today. It's not in the bylaws, so I'm betting Sankey used it as a stick to get the game rescheduled.

Unless one interprets the bylaws where it says all teams "shall" play 8 conference games.
