After doing all my reading this morning (SI, Sporting News, ESPN, the Advocate, the Times-Picayune, and Guilbeau) because I was up at 5:30 (damn this time change), I have come to several conclusions and observations on the state of LSU football this year:

-The media and fan proclaimed "dumbest, luckiest football coach in college football" may not be so damn dumb and lucky after all.

-LSU has had a very rough time this year getting the offense going, but hit it's stride in the second half of the ninth game of the season.

-If the rest of the young players are as good as Mathieu, Shaw, Williford, and Simon were yesterday, LSU will be good for a good while to come and are being developed (coached) correctly. This also speaks volumes on the quality of recruits being offered and brought in by the coaching staff.

-The players are genuinely fond of and like playing for this coach and coaching staff as the presentation of the game ball to coach Miles shows. The comments from players after the game also reflect this.

-This year's team also has staked it's claim as the best 1 loss team if it wins out. You have to remember that even though they lost to Auburn, LSU was tied in the middle of the fourth quarter with the game very much in doubt. If they would have found the offense they had against Alabama, LSU would have won that game regardless of all of Auburn's rushing yards and Cam Newton's heroics.

-It would serve all the negatigers and those who have called for Miles' heads on a platter for him to thumb his nose to all of us and move on to the next job that comes along. He is an excellent recruiter, good coach, runs a clean program, is a family man, and the players play their butts off for him.

-Yes, Les Miles speaks funny and wears his hat different, but I am glad he is the head coach at the flagship university of the state of Louisisana and I think we are lucky to have him. If my sons would have been good enough to play college football, I can't think of a better man to entrust them to other than Les Miles.

Exactly! He is now tied for most wins against bama. And his wins against bama are against much better teams than the other guy
