Stigmas about LSU football taken from an Asst. who spent 15 years coaching 3 SEC programs not named LSU.

1) you never have to worry about a threatening QB

2) they never throw to their TE's

3) the most talented top-to-bottom roster in the Conference more times than not.

Does it matter if it was a tweet or not? In the title, he obviously voiced an opinion with Watt as part of it. Would it have been any different had he said it to a reporter?

Smith has caught 4 balls in 2 years.

I think you over-counted by 3.

I think he means targeted 4 times in 2 yrs.

remember when they split him out wide vs TCU in his 1st game, and threw to him in the EZ? man I thought dude was gonna be a staple in the passing game after that.

But I thought you want athletes to just shut up? Do you only want them to shut up on certain mediums?

I do not understand why we do not run sets with Jacory Washington and Desean Smith at TE. A two TE set with them would be great. They're both good pass catchers and they'd give mismatches to defenses.
(This is all assuming they can block well)

How about they throw the ball to the TE more than twice a season, and maybe they won't be in total shock when a pass comes their way, and catch it. It becomes second nature to catch the ball when they actually try to throw to you a few times a game.

Our passing game is made to be a "happening" instead of a routine part of the offense.

It's like a trick play. Stuns the defense if LSU throws to a TE in the middle of the field.

Speaking of Desean Smith, I remember a time or two when a struggling Jennings hit him in stride and Smith blew the play.

Based on targets to Desean Smith (usually 3rd downs I might add), his name should probably really be Desean "Drive Killer" Smith.

One ought to consider things like that before tweeting.

This is really accurate. But for every pass attempt. I honestly hope we don't practice passing the ball because every pass play looks like a first time try.

I can remember 1 play where he dropped the ball earlier in the yr. it was vs Wisconsin. when was there another one?

the WIsconsin drop was on 1st down. the only other time I can remember him being targeted (no pun intended) was against Arky, when their DB got ejected for targeting. I literally think we've thrown to him 4 or 5 times in 2 yrs. where are all these drops/ killed drives?
