This is stupid. If he doesn't recognize LSU why should LSU recognize him?

Maybe, since he didn't ever play, he doesn't feel it's right to say LSU. You sure are making a big assumption about his character from that one thing.

Do we do this for every player that has signed with LSU but was not able to play due to an injury? Would you be suggesting this if he wasn't playing in the NFL?

In a thread advocating we recognize him at an LSU game.

Why Kevin Faulk doesn't have his #3 retired is beyond me.

In my opinion Faulk did more for LSU than any player in history. He didn't win any titles but brought us out of obscurity and made us believe again.

Maybe LSU should give him a participation trophy for showing up on campus.

And I love how you all leave out the line I said where I have mad respect for what he accomplished.

I went to LSU..

I never played for LSU football though. But I was on the track team at one point. I never officially ran in a track meet however.

If someone asked me to say where I went to school I SAY LSU. I don't say my HS.

Im not saying anything about his character. Im saying that he doesn't recognize LSU with anything to do with football. Im saying the OP would not give a rats arse about Delvin Breaux if he were not good right now.

When he played for the Hamilton Tiger Cats or Voodoo where was the OP wanting to honor him?

Delvin Breaux does not recognize LSU in pre-game intros for the Saints. He says McDonough.

That is AFTER LSU and Les honored his scholly with a BROKEN NECK.

Screw Delvin Breaux.

(note, I separate that sentiment from the mad respect for what he has accomplished )
Maybe because he never played a snap here? Pathetic post.

My point exactly. basically all the fans just want to use the young man to prop up DBU.

Or maybe, just maybe, fans think it would be a cool gesture to congratulate a former student on a truly remarkable ascent to the NFL.

Yeah, no one would be advocating for this if he wasn't in the NFL, the same way no one would advocate for a random political science major to be a representative at an LSU event, when one might do that for James Carville. 100% of schools choose to honor former alumni and students AFTER they've reached the pinnacle of success.

It would be cool to honor him and congratulate him. Not sure why anyone in their right mind would have a problem with a former student overcoming a life threatening neck injury, who goes on to great things, being given such attention from LSU.

He was a player-coach and the LSU wouldn't let him play because of liability. Thus, he pursued his dreams where they would let him play. He always supported LSU and has been a strong advocate of the school from the beginning until now. Who knows--he may not list LSU in his intros out of respect for players who actually played and feeling like he should not state he played there when he never actually did. I honestly could see a lot of people doing that and would say it is the right move.

I'll also state my bias that I've had a chance to meet him a few times and he is a humble and great guy off the field--so I am pulling for him.

That seems really unnecessary

Maybe he doesn't feel right to list a school from which he never played? Seem like you're reading very far into this

If this isn't a troll attempt, you're an a-hole.

He wanted to be a tiger, it just never worked out for him health wise. He attended classes at LSU. He also worked out and played flag football at the rec to get back in shape after his injury.

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure he even used to post on here and update everyone with his career and recovery.

He seems like a good dude and worked hard to come back from his injury. He's the type of person you would want representing the football program.

Most former Tigers that have performed well in the NFL have been recognized in Tiger Stadium. Yes, those that make it to the top get more recognition.
