Administration not willing to be elite
quote:

LSU officials saw what one person called “powerful” locker room videos of players chanting Orgeron’s name, and they received messages from those who witnessed the emotional scene – more signs of the 55-year-old Cajun coach’s culture-changing ways that athletic director Joe Alleva spoke of Saturday.

“It turned the tide,” one source said of the Thanksgiving night events.

Hmmm, where have I seen this before

quote:

LSU officials deny what many have reported – that Fisher turned down an offer. However, they admit that a deal for the coach would have cost more than $50 million in guaranteed money.

LSU officials believed that, if needed, they could have circled back to Fisher, though they knew the lofty asking price

Uhhh, really?

Why was LSU never good before the 2000s?

This mentality. This mentality right here.

How are there not any sane people in the LSU administration? Wasn't there any one around that said, "You do NOT let the players pick the coach! We've tried that before at LSU and it led to the darkest 12 year stretch of LSU football in history."

Good athletic departments don't let 18-22 year olds make decisions. I'm sorry but that's pathetic. Even if they were chanting "Saban, Saban, Saban" what they want should have literally ZERO bearing on any decisions made. You all are hired to make decisions, those players are recruited to play football.

I don't get it. This very same administration went through this very same thing last year when we beat Texas A&M. They let it cloud their judgement then, they saw how wrong they were, so this year they.... do the same thing?!?!?!

Letting kids who will only be here for 3-4 years influence a decision. Classic Alleva.

Here ya go Einstein - YOU PICK THE COACH! Who would/could you have brought in to do better? Fischer don't want to leave FSU and Herman is Longhorn bound. Who ya got?
