Heard one of the commentators say something of the sort Danny Etling being another Matt Flynn. I would say at this stage he might be better than Matt or maybe I'm being overly optimistic.

There's nothing that says he's NOT better than Flynn. It's certainly a little early to make the comparison though.

Matt wasn't a world beater either. I think we have a little bit of nostalgic bias because it was a national championship season. I think they are both in pretty similar, but Etling might have more mobility.

Their throwing motions are very similar, to be honest.

Danny uses all of his receivers much like A J McCarron did at Alabama. Tight ends, fullback, #7, receivers, can't remember last time LSU has has a qb do that.

Flynn was a pretty average QB for us, we just put him in good position to make the right plays when we needed it and had a dynamic offense. Etling has shown some promise so far but I'd be very reserved until he plays a team with more of a pulse where we're in a dogfight. I also liked the play calling a lot more last game than the other 2 games. Still some quirks to work out there, but if it weren't for those 2 fumbles, we probably score another 10-14 points.

But the comparison is pretty good. I think both have/had average arms, but can find open receivers, get the ball there with touch and also tuck and run when needed.

Wtf are y'all doing..wtf is wrong with y'all??? Etling has played two games here. One vs a FCS school. The other vs the worst team in our division.

Two games

I agree with you. Take a look at both of their skill sets and etling has more plus his accuracy and release are better. I loved Flynn but objectively etling brings more to the table. Now if he implodes well know between the ears Flynn was much better but if he stays on track I think etling could be one of our best.

They both have a little something between the ears unlike Harris and Jordan Jefferson.

He certainly reminds me of Flynn. We'll see as he develops and we play better competition.

I also hope that Miles has some designed plays for Harris. I would like to see him included in game planning.

I don't see that etling's realease is outstanding and he can throw from different launch points if you remember Flynn would cup the ball he had small hands for a qb.

Must have a short memory. Harris hit 7 different receivers twice within the last year.

Flynn had stronger arm
Flynn was a little quicker
Both seem to be able to go through their reads
It's all on Miles for not recruiting better QB's, he inherited Flynn and Russell, he got Mett because he booted out of UGA and he got Etling from Purdue.
QB recruiting has not been good under Miles, too many misses.

Did Lee have anything between the ears?
