I'm just grateful the man uses his legs to find more opportunities, to draw defenders away from the middle of the field, and the like. Now, if he can learn to slide and have better touch on those long throws, we would be pretty much unstoppable.

I like him a lot. Didn't expect him to be as useful as he is.

Although yes he needs to learn to slide, you have to appreciate the toughness he shows when taking a huge hit, getting back up, shaking it off, and leading his offense for a touchdown.

If he can just improve the deep ball I think he can be a damn good QB

We all appreciate it, but Cam Newton or Tim Tebow he is NOT. He can only take so many of those shots, and we have several good defenses coming up. The slide needs to become the default.

Remembering that he was a back-up QB at Purdue, I never thought he would play a down here. He has far exceeded my expectations in every game he has played.

The biggest difference to me is that he is a team leader, tough as nails, and makes the right decision quickly. Plus look His 3rd down completion rate, and success rate. He has to be 80% or it seems like it. Doesn't get sacked. He is Matt Flynn 2.0

He looked like a QB playing at this level should look. Nothing really spectacular, but seems to understand the game, has good reflexes, quick release and finds playmakers to get the ball to.

I don't expect 400 yard games from him, just solid performances. He's not fast, but mobile enough to keep the plays alive and does a great job with that.

He's an average QB at best but I guess I consider that a luxury now.

Do think he's getting better. And will get the deep ball percentage up.

He was actually the starter there until Appleby took the job and he transferred. Kind of ironic that they may be facing each other as SEC starters next week, while Purdue is coming off getting throat punched yet again this week. Doesn't say much for that program, does it?

He needs to learn to slide, or get out of bounds. Needs to work on deep throws

The biggest difference between DEt and the others(JJ, AJ, BH) is that DEt seems to have a clock in his head and can feel the pressure and moves his feet accordingly. Its nice that the other guys were dual threat(except for maybe AJ) and could run but without pocket presence that skill is useless in anything but designed QB runs/run options which Less Smiles refused to use with AJ and BH.

He's not spectacular and probably will not be an NFL guy but it's closer to what's needed. Third down efficiency last night was very good (relatively) which was something that's been lacking.

disagree. he won't put up the stats of these spread "wonders" in this offense but it is harder, much harder to be good in our system. his leadership and decision making is far better than average.

He may be a serviceable backup, probably 3rd stringer somewhere if he continues improving and shows up on a few big stages. If he wins, people would want him, and with the new administration he's 1-0.

He played great. He may not have the greatest arm but his decision making has been excellent. Being able to dump off to te or rb is the difference in 3rd and 3 and 3rd and 10
