He lead a struggling team to win on the road vs Florida and home against auburn. Two teams we weren’t supposed to beat and he played his arse off.

From Danny through me... GFY

The so-called "experts" on the Rant says he sucks, so he must suck. That is a bullshite article.

The idiot posted: "fourth, I said – in both quarterback rating and yards per pass attempt"

The Rant "experts" are never wrong, that is a bullshite article with no facts what-so-ever to back it up.

Don't try to talk good about LSU or an LSU player because if you do we all know it is BS. Thank you in advance !!!

LSU will not win one game the rest of the season and better enjoy it.

He's a game manager. Nothing more, nothing less. He's not going to win the game for you, but he won't lose it for you either.

He will however, give you 110% on every play and his willingness to give that 110% regardless of the score can be infectious to other players. Danny leads this team not with his abilities but rather with his heart.

He will never be a hall of fame LSU player, but I'm damn proud to have him on the team.

Nope. I love Danny for his heart but his lack of arm and speed when scrambling is not what you mention.

Impressive he has as many incompletions as he does since most dudes would take sacks instead of extending the play as often as he does

quote:

Last year, Etling threw the ball 20 yards or further downfield on 19.5 percents of his passes, the second-highest rate of any quarterback in the SEC, according to PFF College. But Etling wasn't especially effective on those throws; his 31.9 percent completion rate on such attempts ranked ninth in the conference. This year, Etling is still taking shots downfield at roughly the same rate he did a year ago (19.5 percent, 2nd in the SEC), but his accuracy has improved to 53.3 percent.

Chark has reeled in a shite load of deep ones. Contested balls? He wins them. That’s the difference between this year and last...

What if I told you DJ chark has zero receiving touchdowns on the year?

So his pass to Russell Gage for the touchdown against Auburn and the fact that he is the 4th best QB in the SEC means nothing to you ???

Idiot LSU fans.

Here, let me leave this BS play with you. I know it sucks but that is what LSU has become. This was a 5 to 10 yard pass or hell maybe a couple yards that was BARELY completed. The WR sacrificed himself for the BS pass. Enjoy !!!

I like him but for Etling to be one of the best in the SEC, it shows how bad QB play in the conference is this year.

Bro, go rewatch Stidhams completions from Saturday... he went 9 for 26 in completions. First pass of the day was one handed by a TE. A 3rd and 14 screen went for 50 yards. A 3rd and 9 deep pass down the sideline that required their WR to top toe an over the shoulder was another. And I remember a wide open guy laying out completely to snag one when it could’ve been huge. You can argue the defenses they all face, but you could also argue o-line protection and dropped passes.

For every pass Danny may miss, he comes back and hits some shite that you don’t expect him to. Also, correct me if wrong, but Brennan has thrown 2 INT’s and Etling has thrown 1 with much more playing time. I feel that this coaching staff that’s comfortable starting freshmen all over the field are letting the best players play.

Danny may not be the best, but he’s definitely far from the worst we’ve ever seen. He’s the best we got right now and the two guys we had before him both transferred out of here... One of those being the dude that hit dural to prevent a loss to an 0-8 conference record Arkansas and hit Diarse to complete a comeback against a Wisconsin team that stopped giving Melvin Gordon the ball for some reason (similae to LSU/Clemson with hill...)

Ps- Andrew hatch was honored with the 2007 natty team last Saturday.

Was he on the team then? I know he played in 2008 but I didn't realize he was on the 2007 roster.

That's awesome.

He doesn't suck. If you think that, you are an idiot.

He has some issues with arm strength and delivers the ball a bit late at times.
He missed some plays, but he made some plays as well and led his team to 2 big SEC wins.

He also has taken some big hits and never complains, just gets back up and fights through it.

People that go out of their way to bash a player like that have some serious personal issues.

He sure as shite won the Auburn game. He def doesn't suck he's been winning games with no oline and 1 legitimate WR plus still putting up a better passer rating than any of Tommy Hodsons. He has 1 turnover the entire season in a chaotic offense and it came in a desperation situation while offbalance taking a hit. Etling is everything you want in a QB and if the rest of the offense would play with his smarts and toughness we'd be a great football team.

What does your link have to do with what Stidham did? That guy was really good at Baylor, say what you will about the Big 12 defenses but he was pretty accurate with his passes.

I don't think he had more than 5 completions in the entire second half.

Etling had a better % than Stidham. Says a lot about him with the OL issues which are getting better. Etling isn't Joe Montana but he plays hard and guts it out. He leaves it all on the field.

I think that was the premise of this thread. Not quite sure why you feel it necessary to try to make it look like he's terrible.

We won. Florida game he looked terrible. Better in the Auburn game but we should have lost. Auburn DB dropped a pass a 4 y/o could have caught that would have sealed the victory for them. He plays tough but skill set is MAC conference at best.

Jet sweeps, special team play and WR's making great catches and taking the ball out of DB's grasp is what has scored our points. Defense played great in second half of Auburn game. Happy we won but, we do not have one of the SEC's best quarterbacks.

DE needs to make quicker decisions and be more accurate. If he does these 2 things we have a good chance in any ball game.

WoW! watched the last game and i have to disagree. He was bailed out last game by the Wr's and missed some easy passes. No one questions his leadership and his willingness to take a hit but to me his Football IQ is not that good. Sorry but that is the truth. I hope to eat some crow pie at the end of the season by him proving me wrong but he has had two season of starting and is still wildly inconsistent.
