over on the SEC rant there is a thread rating the SEC West QB's and in all of the responses all but one or two rate Etling dead last and he's rated 6th in those.

I think he's gonna prove some people wrong this year. OK, he's not Brett Favre but I think he can be as good as Flynn. i think he can lead us to the West title and SEC title if he gets some protection.

I don't think the CFB world understands just how limiting Miles and Cameron were to QBs. With Canada we'll see a whole new Danny Etling and he'll show the naysayers what he can do.

Well those guys over there are as dumb or dumber than over here. Hell, Lsu fans are harder on etling than most. I'm actually very confident in etling and looking forward to having him healthy combined with being a smart, experienced sr. He had better numbers last year than several, and should improve in Canada's offense.

I respect the hell out of etling. He's a true leader and knows that he'll have to let his play do the talking. Hope he has a great year

How often do people call these things right? How often do players and teams emerge out of no where?

Pretty damn often. Actually every year they call it wrong and teams emerge from no where, every year. Let's see who it is this year...

It is pretty stupid the way they act over there. I'm not saying Etling is the next Tom Brady. He's not. He's just not nearly as bad as everyone says he is.

It's especially funny how Bama fans praise Hurts (who actually is a worse passer and has worse pocket awareness than Etling), but yet they shite all over Etling (who actually can read a defense and recievers).

95% of the posts on the SEC Rant are people trolling other fan bases. Who gives a shite what they think?

Totally agree with this, no one sees it coming and that's perfectly fine with me.

I meant sec qb rankings lol

Sec west specifically

I really don't care honestly, just since the op brought up rankings

Etling has the ability to be good enough with the new coaching

I'd like to have a little more experience behind him though, but who wouldn't

i really don't rank players like that, esp qb's. again, there may be a super qb but basically most of them are pretty average sec qbs. it's still a team game. the bama qb is the only guy i KNOW that can win a game for his team.

at years end, the aggie qb, whoever that will be, may end up the "best" of the lot. and that qb is the only one Etling outranked.

It is crazy how everyone assumes he's no good because they think he's gay.

I guess I'm a negatiger these days, and I still expect etling to be decent this year.

I would imagine he would rank 5-7 in the SEC after the season is over. I see Canada using him, but for a lot of easy stuff.

I'm saying 62% 2600yds 22/9

Avoid those idiots. That board is nothing but rednecks trolling each other.

What would be your rankings? I think there's a legitimate argument to be made that he's the worst of the group, based on last season and projections. Doesn't mean it'll end up that way.

I think Etling can be a serviceable college QB, and not much more than that. I don't know that he deserves bottom of SEC rankings, but I don't know that he deserves more than middle of the pack rankings, either. That said, I really hope he surprises me and puts on a clinic. He was mostly serviceable with a jacked up back and pinched nerve, so I imagine he'll gain some velocity and accuracy on his throws by having that fixed.
