So much for the so called 'experts' in picking the top college teams across the land. No shade on the seeding process or experts. Just goes to show you in baseball well, you don't have to be 6'6" 245lb, 4.5 40yd to be legit. All shapes and sizes with alot of heart, good coaching, confidence, and you win!!!

For those of you who continue to second guess and 'what if', 'what if', 'what if', please. You sound like ole piss fans! Stop embarrassing yourself.

LSU baseball had a great season that exceeded expectations. Enjoy that fact and look with an optimistic eye on the upcoming football season and next years baseball season. Yea, did not include basketball (not much hope there).

Geaux Tigers..........

P.S. Rant negatigers spare your key strikes as I RDC!!!

I really do grudgingly respect this Coastal Carolina team. We would have been better off not getting the national seed and being paired with one of the other SEC teams

I was definitely concerned when I saw them win the prior regional. Just looking at their stats waa impressive.. Regardless of lesser competition.

This is a weird place to bust out the "so-called experts" line.

Well for starters there aren't many people that size playing baseball to begin with, but I get your point.

Was referring to football competition and the delta between the major programs and mid majors vs baseball being 'not so much'.

The one I was most impressed with beaned the first batter he threw to last night.
Even though he looked like he was about to cry when Corch reached for the ball, he really DGAF - he's about to get paid.

How about: "so-called experts" doesn't fit with your post because you aren't throwing any shade at those peeps.

Baseball, by far, is the hardest sport to "handicap" when compared to football and basketball. Certainly mid-majors in basketball make runs in the NCAA tournament but they are not doing it with 6 ft post players.

Baseball is the only sport where size really doesn't matter and on any given day the underdog has the ability to win on a regular basis.

As far as national seeds go, quality of competition plays a big role and teams from power conferences will get the edge over smaller conferences.

Anyone can win, whoever is hot hitting the ball usually stands a good chance.

Coastal is just a very good offensive team and they put pressure on you a lot of ways.
I still don't think they have the pitching depth to get through it. It's key they stay in the winner's bracket.

They still have a good #2 and hasn't touched their closer yet. I think they can win their next game with these 2. All they have to do after that is win one out of 2 against a team who has played 3 games already and their pitching is likely gassed also. If a team needed their starter to go all 9 innings, it was Coastal, and he did just that.

The nature of baseball yields more parity because physical prowess is not as fruitful as skill. Football is the opposite. There is less parity because the benefits of skill do not outweigh the benefits of physical prowess.

In football, the biggest, strongest, fastest team will almost certainly win. A skillful QB and/or a speedy ball-carrier can sometimes make up for the size/strength disadvantage of the rest of the team, but it's rare.

As I've said before, baseball is basically a 50/50 sport once you reach the collegiate level of competition.

But I picked Coastal Carolina to beat LSU when the brackets were released. TCU was my champion. I have proof as well
