According to Yahoo News, for "about $9M". He & Skeenes are the highest paid #1 & #2 draft picks. Surprised that Boras got him signed that fast. If german, mea culpa.

There were rumors Crews would sign for more than Skenes

Also rumors that Jordan Thompson would sign for 4th round money, etc.

The Rant at its best.

He would’ve gotten $10M if he went #1, but he wasn’t getting that going second

Damn that sucks for him, 10 mill would have been so much better. I guess he’ll survive though.

I feel bad for him, the Nationals are crap and will continue to be a cancer to baseball.

Agree. Hate them.
Hope he hits .350. Team loses every game and he is traded.

My comment about 10M was in response to the post about him getting paid more the skenes. It wasn’t gonna happen with him going 2nd, but it’s a huge payday either way.

Nats would’ve had to forfeit their first rounder had they gone over 9.1 mil for Crews.

Not necessarily, but at the time he signed that’s correct. They could’ve signed their 2nd & 3rd picks for less (both signed for 2.6M)

Yes after they went over slot for Sykora and Morales they couldn’t go higher than 9.1. Both were first round talents in their own right and Sykora was set to go to Texas.

Jay Johnson gave a great interview during tonight’s game as part of the telecast. The announcers were going off about what a great coach he is.

Dylan spent a full inning with the broadcasters, gave some really good answers. What keeps coming up is what a great kid he is. Very happy that he is a Nat.
