Creative ProStyle Offense - Difference btwn Bama & LSU (or Saban & Miles)

Saban has embraced (albeit reluctantly) a more modern/creative pro style offense.
The talent between the 2 schools is essentially a wash ( I would argue LSU actually has an advantage going forward with the additions of super recruiters Orgeron and Steele).
Miles understands he can beat 95% of his opponents by simply beating them physically into submission as long as they don't turn the ball over (and he is right). Saban has a very similar philosophy but he has adjusted slightly to keep the upper hand. He didn't go to a gimmicky "spread" offense. Just a pro style set which includes easy throws for the QBs to gain confidence and formations/packages that create personnel mismatches.
We will continue to lose to Bama unless we gain a superior recruiting advantage which seems unlikely.

Or until our defense stops getting shite on by their run game

Difference btwn Bama & LSU (or Saban & Miles)
Saban is a defensive coach who allows his coordinators to do their things
Miles is an offensive coach who thinks he has to give input (which has proven disastrous)

Or a change in coaching philosophy.
But your suggestion is the only one within the realm of possibility, mine is just a pipe dream.

We need to find a QB that the coaches can develop quickly and trust to throw the underneath passes and mid tier passes. And Miles needs to conquer his 2008 flashbacks/paranoia condition.

yep saban made a slight tweak and it has paid off hugely. We have no reason to not be running the exact same offense that bama runs

Saban recruits quarterbacks who can make clutch throws. Les likes more of a runner at quarterback.

We have one. Harris is a superior player to Coker.

He wasn't lastnight. He had no touch.

How can you compare their front 7 (and their depth) to our front 7 and call talent a wash? Also at this stage I would say Coker is a better QB than Harris. Coker completes over 60% of his passes. Harris right now knows how to throw a fade and deep post

If only we had someone, like a qb coach or OC who could work with him on this EASILY fixed issue!! Darn shame.

LSU and Miles only managed 182 yards of total offense. let that sink in everyone.

Saban lost to Ohio St and Ole Miss BECAUSE he abandoned his offensive style. I disagree with any premise that Bama has changed their offense at all. It's always been run based with easy passes, never asking the QB to do much. Last year was an outlier because Coker couldn't get it done, so they spread it out a little with Sims.
They win because they have better players in almost every position. It's no big secret.

Bama has had the #1 recruiting class 4 consecutive years prior to this year. That level of talent makes a difference.

A good assessment. Miles and Saban have similar approaches to the game. Tough defense and run oriented offense. The difference is basically Jimmys and Joes. Both teams scheme for mismatches. All teams do. The final game plan revolves around that. If Saban didn't see mismatches in the LSU defensive scheme he would not have run those plays.

Unfortunately true. We have nothing to match the buying power of the REC. Neither does any other SEC school.

Those two will certainly help close the gap.

That is interesting. How many coaches' planning sessions have you sat in on? I'd love to know what goes on there.
Tell us what you have seen.

The talent is not a wash. Bama always has better and deeper talent. Don't kid yourself.

Harris choked, he was a nervous wreck

The talent gap is not that wide if at all. LSU is always in the top 5 as well.
LSU has as many or more players in the pros. Talent is not the issue.
