You're probably right ... I understand Nola said, after the game, his arm felt great .. and he wanted to keep going ..

So are you, saying he should, have let him stay in , in a meaningless game for a personal achievement ? Sure why not , risk injury and lose your best pitcher . That s ridiculous , CPM did the right thing .

Virginia Tech isn't a meaningless game .. Did you follow college baseball last year ? A pitcher can hurt their arm at any time .. early or late in the season ..

My goodness, anyone thinking he should have left in are just clueless. It should not even be a debate.

Clueless ? It's college baseball .. These guys have a less than 5% chance of pitching in the big leagues .. LSU hasn't had a no hitter since 1967 .. Nola's arm could give out in a late season SEC series too ..

Yea lets leave him in and risk taking a comebacker off the kneecap and ending his season so he can tell his grandkids he threw a no no against Virginia fricking Tech in a game that meant absolutely dick.

It is a meaningless game when your long term goals are the conference and then the World Series . VT men's nothing . You guys must not have played much baseball . The season just started , he is on a pitch count . Deal with it

I laugh at the risking injury posts.
Take him out because he's on a set count and on a schedule to increase his pitch count week by week. Not because you're scared he might get hurt.
He's a god damn baseball player. He could get hurt in practice. He could get hurt crossing the street.

Just making it to Omaha is a GREAT season ?? Things have changed ..

We went two and BBQ in a whimper in Omaha after we caught a break playing Oklahoma here in the Super .. Stony Brook came in here and hosed us in 2012 ..

Rag, you got to be trolling right? Last season was a great one.
Posted on 2/21/14 at 10:10 pm to TigahRag
but we were the class champs in 2012 with our victory lap for the over lords of stony brook

I laugh at posts that laugh at risking injury posts. Is it not a possibility?
I know why he took him out. He was on an 85-90 count. CPM gave him 15 in the 7th and that was it. But to act like the possibility of injury isn't there is just dumb. Its still a consideration.

I think your stagnant program observation is at least debatable at least, but regardless I think last year was a great year.

It's college sports .. You live for the moment .. This wasn't Louisiana College on a Wednesday night ... Va Tech was pretty fricking good last year ..
Posted on 2/21/14 at 10:13 pm to im4LSU
The possibility of injury is always there .. Be it game 1 or game 58 .. These guys throw year round now .. "Early in the season" means nothing any more ..

Lol last year . Let's talk about the past to make it seem like VT is something special . Last year we were better than VT . See I can do it too . VT means nothing to LSU unless we,play them in the regionals or higher . Our season means more than one game . Sorry you don't understand that

Nola is a noodle arm. He threw complete game after complete game last season.
He should have been taken out for the reason I said.
You can go trough life scared of the unknown.
