My guess is Hilliard,Stortz and Labas will be middle relief if healthy or mid-week starters

Isn’t Storz going to redshirt this year because of an injury?

Is there an injury update on him?
Last I heard was tendonitis at the end of the season & soreness recently

Peterson settled in as closer in the back half of the year and was lights out. Before that it was a struggle to get quality innings out of him. I am hoping he has found his spot as a closer because he has good stuff.

I really hope he doesn't have something serious that would require tommy John because it's basically at a point where he would probably miss part of next season if not all if they wait any longer. Hilliard was our best starter for a chunk of the season last year. Unless he's not 100% I can't see him not in contention for a weekend starter spot.

They’ve been super quiet on him and Labas.

Man now I’m concerned. I’m sure random internet poster DBG knows more than Paul Maneri and Alan Dunn.

James Moran 9/1/18

Some injury/personnel nuggets from Paul:
- C CJ Willis has been cleared to swing a bat, which has him a month ahead of schedule. He won’t throw, though.
- Nick Storz, Zack Hess, AJ Labas and Ma’Khail Hilliard will be brought along slowly in the fall. No reason for alarm.

Brody Miller 9/23/18

Ma'Khail Hilliard is not ready to pitch. They still haven't found anything structurally wrong with him, but not feeling right. Same with AJ Labas

Well that doesn’t make me feel better.

What about Beck?

That statement sounds too iffy for me. Crazy that he still isn’t feeling right 5 months later. Hopefully it’s nothing serious and that they are just taking precautions because it’s only fall ball

If Storz ever gets healthy he may become a weekend starter

They haven't said much on Beck, but my own personal speculation is that he won't pitch this spring.

He was abused by the summer league pitching coach he played for. Rarely going 5 innings but almost always going at least 85 pitches. He had a 3 inning, 85 pitch outing one game. If we're going to send kids to the TCL, don't send them to Lafayette anymore. And try to have some influence on who the pitching coach for the Baton Rouge team is. Maybe that's a way for Russell Reynolds to break into coaching.

I know it's football season, but I love baseball talk

Most eager to see Walker and Marceaux this season.
