JV messed up his own career with a lack of work ethic, this is no secret

He got 76 carries in 2004. Alley B. and Joe Addai just went beast-mode that season and averaged over 6 ypc each.

Myth. Trindon was only good for returns. He was only fast when running in a straight line. He had no cutting ability whatsoever.

Just wrong on so many levels.

The answer is Trindon Holiday and Skyler Green.

Do tell me how I'm wrong please. The kid is fast as lightening but couldn't make a cut or break a tackle to save his life.

Fact.

He had tremendous speed, but no shiftiness, balance, or change of direction.

Isn't the phrase: Shoulda, coulda, woulda?

I think you are starting the wrong word.

I liked Trindon, but I also got tired of seeing track clips of him and hearing the announcers say "World class speed". Being that's the only thing they could say when he touched the ball whether the play was for 100 yards or none.

So far Rueben Randle has been under utilized.

They quit using Dickson last year

Shyrone Carey

It only looked like this because we used him so poorly that defenses knew exactly what to expect when he was in the ballgame thus there were always a hundred defenders on him right when he got the ball.

He was a lot quicker and had a much stronger lower body than people gave him credit for. This isn't some 6'-7 strider who only burned people once he got up to speed. His legs were extremely explosive and he could cut just fine.

No he couldn't. That's why he wasn't a better returner. He couldn't make anyone miss. He had to hit a seam straight on.

Insisting that Marcus Randall start for most of 2004 was the second dumbest decision of Saban's LSU tenure. I have never held a lower opinion of any LSU QB.

Now are you trying to say he wasn't a good return man? Our return game was one of the main reasons our offense ever scored last year. The field position they gave us was ridiculous.

I'm not trying to say Trindon should have been a Heisman winner at LSU, I'm saying he shoulda been used better; not just for his good but for the team's good.

Guys like him are a dime a dozen and can be used to dictate defenses while forcing a defense to show its hand at the same time. It's the reason Sean Payton pays Reggie Bush Pro-Bowl money when he doesn't even have the production Pierre Thomas does.

Having someone like Holiday whose speed you absolutely have to respect can tell you so much about a defense's coverages depending on where he lines up or how you motion him around. That's the reason Payton motions Bush out so much or aligns Shockey in so many non-traditional TE spots because it gives away the defense's scheme.

Also, pre-snap motion with guys like Holiday forces the defense to commit one direction. Hell Arkansas beat us using a high school play and it wasn't because of McFadden; it's because we had to respect Felix Jones' speed around the edge that it opened up holes North-South.

Now I'm not advocating running the Wildcat 24/7, but the Saints ran a similar play with Bush in pre-snap jet motion and Deuce getting the handoff North-South up the gut all the way to the NFC Championship Game Reggie's rookie year. They also used that same pre-snap motion to take Demarcus Ware completely out of the game that year because he had to respect Reggie around the end (not sure why they didn't do it last year, they must not have gameplanned for him being healthy).

Crowton is just a fvcking moron and doesn't have a clue how to use his personnel.

Joseph Addai is one. He should have been on the field more given his versatility. The guy could run, block and catch passes. Yet, he never really was a featured player.

However, there is only one all-time could've, would've should've been and that was Cecil Collins. No one comes close to the waste of talent that was Cecil.

Negative, never said Trindon would be an All-American but the way we used him was fvcking stupid and I detailed above why.
