Oline is young and lacks depth.
Dline hindered with injuries and absences and lacks depth.

If Saban took the exact roster over that did Coach O, the discipline issue may arguably be better for penalties...I'd buy that, to some extent.

But, based on talent ON THE 2017 roster, and not magically claiming he would have much better lines and depth....How many wins would be expected?

Could the best college coach alive improve our team, including our lines?

Questions were as follows

Could he do something special with the 2017 roster and lines?

How many wins would be expected?

ps. Did not ask if he was great, or whether he would do better.

Lacks talent too. Coach O has been recruiting at LSU since 2015.

DL will be fine in the long run. Just needs some more depth.

Holy frick, get over it bro Saban ain't ever coming back!!!! Your exercise is futile because it doesn't matter Saban isn't coming back to LSU so why don't you give a useful example.

OLine has 1 freshmen playing and 4 people in their 3/4/5th year.

That's not young.

You could say depth is an issue because they should all be back ups.

Edit: had to add a not.

Saban will do something with our lines, exploit them.

Completely invalid assumption. That ship sailed long ago, and is not part of this hypothetical.

Saban was used in this example simply because he is universally believed to be the best coach in football.

Now, if you would put aside your assumptions and answer the questions, that would be helpful'

If Saban were the coach, we wouldn't be in the position we are now. #1 he wouldn't have gotten lazy & quit recruiting to leave LSU in the hole it is in now. #2 Grimes would not be the O-line coach; that in itself would be a major improvement.

The facking Saban obsession on this board is astonishing. Can't make it one day without several hypotheticals involving Saban and LSU.

Since it isn't realistic there is no reason to answer the question it is a stupid question since the chance of it happening is as close to zero as you can get without it actually being zero!

With Saban you would know that the team is coached by a man who's resume speaks volumes and that good times are definitely ahead.

That's the main issue. We have nothing to be optimistic about. We have a coach who has no results other than failure. So we suck now and we have no reason to believe it will be any different in the future and we're worried about how much permanent damage is being done. And people are surprised by this. Why? I have no idea.

Coach O wants to recruit more linemen. Les didn't recruit enough linemen. O wants to fix the problem that only most of you are just recognizing.

O had no control over that in the past.

Yep

Les Miles tenure 2005-2007 a big loud "YES"

afterwards and LM's raise in salary - a big "NO"
