It's convenient and easy to blame baserunning mistakes on the coaches. It fits the overall argument since people want PM and especially Javi gone. People who have played baseball, understand that the majority of baserunning mistakes are mental errors committed by the player in spite of coaching to the contrary. Baseball is a game full of mental errors. This is not to say the coach is never at fault or that players cannot be taught better. It's just naive to watch dumb plays on the basepaths and start cursing the coaches and wishing for them to be fired. That's a convenient out though if you already don't like a certain coach.

Name one former LSU player who, right now, has the coaching experience, on any level, to be qualified to be the hitting coach and lead recruiter for one of the top 5 college baseball programs in the country. I'll patiently wait as you get those resumes together and post them here...

Why are we so hung up on getting a coach who is a former player, just for the sake of doing so? Alan Dunn was a nice hire and nobody had even heard of him before.

Again, I agree that it might not be a good idea. I just think it could happen.

Hey Russian, blame that on whomever's in charge of Autocorrect on iOS 7's keyboard team.

Oh and before you forget, I thought that the fact that I live in Walker, and was born and raised in Denham "explained" a lot. Now iOS sums up my ignorance instead of my geographic location in the state? You seem easily confused.

Talent like Katz who was developed by Javi and not an elite player coming out of high school.

Played for two state titles and won one in HS. Hit .410 as a Junior and a Senior and hit 20 HR his last two years of HS. Two time all State as a Junior and Senior. All Region his Senior Year.

Oh yeah, lemme tell ya. He was a lump of clay that Javy truly molded into what he became.

I didn't say he sucked. He just wasn't elite. Where was he drafted out of high school? He wasn't drafted at all.

Was Tyler Moore elite as well? I guess he got that 6th round pick on his own..

I'll grant you that Katz was a good player. You just miss the point. When someone does good, you guys credit the player. When someone does bad, you blame the coach. Batting well in high school doesn't mean much. All of the players LSU gets will have good stats from high school.

You make a joke but look at the other coaches who have endorsed it... To include Bertman, Mike Martin, Ron Polk...

Perhaps these techniques worked during "gorilla ball" days.

Perhaps they did but it's teaching the swing. It's not like teams are going to slap hitting.
