Media chit show finally comes to close.

Alleva did what he said he'd do - stood up to the podium and addressed coaching situation after A&M game - and correct decision was made.

LSU now avoids overspending for a brand name that would likely deliver similar W/L's, and they pass on taking a chance with a replacement that could potentially slip program back into the dark ages of the early 90's.

Les now realizes seriousness of expectations, and LSU retains a top tier coach with excellent recruiting skills.

Yes, he needs to move away from his awful game planning and learn to make game-time adjustments - or better yet get the right staff in place to help advise - but changes for the better will be forthcoming. I expect changes at OC, special teams at minimum and better focus on developing QB. (It would also be nice to have a strength and conditioning coach on staff like bammers). GEAUX TIGERS!

Sounds good on paper, but he told us all no major changes. Heard this broken record for years now.

A financial decision was made. Why pay 20 million and risk getting a new coach when the fans are paying to watch the guy that's there.

No. Miles now thinks he's untouchable thanks to the dimwits that think he's done a bang up job the last four years.

Have you seen the last four seasons? They're trending that way. Miles is not the man to fix it.

And to say that after 11 years Miles now realizes the seriousness of expectations is laughable. Wtf has he been doing the last 4 years?

If there'd been no noise about firing Les, do you think he'd taken the initiative to change things on his own - or would he have been satisfied with the status quo? It's telling that it took almost being fired for him to partially acknowledge there's a problem.

Why do we need a change at OC, we still haven't seen what this one can do without his boss gumming up the works

You can't change coaches. We were young, we have a top recruiting class, we went 8-3, which is what everyone expected (allegedly). Keep everyone!!!!

I think Les Miles wants to win as much or more than anyone associated with LSU.

His "near death" experience is likely to change him, it does to most who have similar experiences.

I hope he hires a good offensive mind who will bring new wrinkles for the rest of the league to deal with. As is, LSU plays the same game plan, year in, year out. That has to change. I hope for everyone it does.

Totally wrong decision after all that happened. You can't drag the coach through the mud and then take it back. In no way will this lead to anything better except get Alleva fired.

The season will end with Bama again next year. Pumpers will still rejoice in spite of another failure of a season while watching Bama go to the seccg again.

there will not be any improvements.

what you've had is what you've got. just more of it.

ceiling for miles is a 2 loss season. but hey! miles is the only coach to win a Natty with 2 losses. maybe lighning will strike again!
